The resort was a bit off the main drag of the Island, but that just made it feel more like an exclusive tropical getaway. We went at the end of the season, so it wasn't overcrowded, and we got a great rate, which we liked. The rooms were very clean, spacious and smelled good. We really enjoyed having a balcony and sat out there often. If you can, try and get courtyard view or ocean view, otherwise you will be facing out to the parking lots. We had a courtyard view and it was very nice, we were overlooking the pool and we could see the ocean too. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Our room was always cleaned in a timely manner. We also really liked the kitchenette that our room had, it is a nice thing to have when traveling with children. The resort felt very private, the beach was beautiful. This seemed to be a very family friendly resort, there were lots of children. But, the resort had special adult only areas and an adult only pool, so if you didnt have kids, you had somewhere you could go for some peace and quiet. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend this resort to anyone.

We spent two nights here on our way back from Florida. It is in a lovely cul-de-sac type of area, along with a couple of other resorts which gives it a lovely 'village' feel. The front desk staff were great. The entrance has a classy yet causal ambiance,,,I had sort of known what to expect of the room as I had read reviews - so knowing it was still basically a 'seaside hotel', I didn't want to have high expectations - however the room, if a bit worn, was very clean and had a nice atmopshere, I felt right at home. Beautiful luxury bedding, comfy mattress, sofa and coffee table, lots of channels on TV and very clean bathroom made for a comfy stay. Have to say, it could have done with a small fridge,,the brown thing that looks like one,,isn't lol*,,it's a storage unit,,,not much use to be honest. BUT when I saw they provide Starbucks coffee in the room all was forgiven! As for the pool area it is vast and open plan kinda thing with the hotel shaped like a horseshoe around the 3 pools, walk way to beach - with many trees, beds and umbrellas. It had a great happy/sunny/easy going atmosphere with people - and butterflies - milling around, (well the butterflies were flying lol) eating lunch, swimming, playing table tennis etc. We liked the holiday feel there. The local area is wonderful,,so many restaurants and shopping plaza's with a country/seaside feel. People very friendly. If I have one or two negative comments they would be that, as many guests have stated,,,the restaurant is very expensive! We went for buffet breakfast but decided to leave when we realized it would cost over $50 for the two of us. Also, a reg coffee by the pool cafe is $3 - more than at Starbucks! Plate of fries $5,,,you really have to go just outside to other chain or mom & pop restaurants unless you want to spend around $200+ for two days food. The other thing would be that usually resorts provide beach deck chairs/umbrellas right out front of their property as part of this 'resort fee' :-( My husband and I were real happy to manage to get a pair together on the beach - BUT a 'salesman' stationed there approuched us and asked for $30 for the day to hire them!! We were both astounded! I mean we would not mind paying a small fee,,say $10 but $30 is extortionate! Everyone is out for their dollar today - but this was a rip-off. (This probably doesn't pertain to the hotel iteself) but it would be a boon to guests to have these kind of things included in 'resort fees'. Little perks like the free iced lemonade they provide in the lobby during the day really bring guests back. Enjoyed my stay.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at Disney's Hilton Head Island resort in October 2011. We selected this resort after reading quite a few reviews on hotels.com which described everything pretty accurately. Since we were there in the fall, we didn't take advantage of the beach house except to look at it once. We were pleased with the number of children's arts and craft activities, the pool, the campfire, the general quality of the resort and rooms, and the typical Disney customer service.

Don't expect a real breakfast, the full kitchen is missing major items. Paper towels, dish soap...The resort fee....wow this is no resort and when asked what the resort was for they said coffee and HBO. Just about every hotel has these. Its not even considered an amenity, but for this hotel for whatever reason its considered a resort amenity. Maybe they should just build it into the price of the hotel

I reserved an oceanfront room with king sized bed. The room was listed as having a "resort credit." I made a special request for a room as "high up in the hotel as possible." When we arrived (~ 30 - 45 minutes before official check in time), I was told that our room would be on the 4th floor (the second lowest in the hotel which has 10 floors), that the hotel was full and that all the king bed rooms were "taken." Additionally, I was told I had no resort credit with this room. I was politely told that my special requests could not be honored. Luckily, I had a copy of my Expedia reservation and pointed out that only the request for room high up in the hotel was a special request. In fairness to the hotel, they eventually did grant me a $100 resort credit (which they said I was not entitled to) and complimentary breakfast buffets for both of us for every morning of our stay.

We were very impressed with the beautiful hotel room. It was spacious, beautifully decorated, very clean, and well kept. However, the beds felt like rocks and we had a choice between overly fluffy square pillows or very small, horribly flat, cot-sized pillows. I started my distressing bout with sleep by piling the three small pillows together, but it wasn't enough to support my head. So, I resorted to the overly fluffy square pillows that were so big I had to squish down in the bed and let my feet hang off the end, and they were waaay too firm and fluffy. I got no sleep and, frustrated, gave up and rose to make coffee at 3:30 a.m. There, I came upon my teen-aged son who, unable to sleep on the beds, had decided to try his luck sleeping on the couch. In addition, we were given a room in the furthest possible location from the beach (I traveling was alone with four kids when my husband was called away for business . . . the trek to the beach felt like a ten mile walk hauling two toddlers in my arms and trying to direct the teens to carry the beach stuff). There were no lifeguards, and no one working at the beach. When the beach was too cold (It was March, after all) we went to swim in one of the many hot pools. Again, there were no lifeguards or other hotel personnel. When we got out of the hot pool, we realized we smelled as if we had been bathing in sewage. Not a good thing. That's when we found out the men's and women's locker room was "closed for maintenance," and had to make another trip up to the hotel room. The staff was a bit less than helpful ("There's a luggage cart near the elevators in that building," and "We don't have an ice machine, but you can purchase ice in our store, here's a map to help you find the store.") I didn't feel like a guest, I felt like an unwanted second cousin who stayed too long in the guest bedroom. Next time, I think we will try a different hotel.
