The hotel is a great location on a nice stretch of beach. The rooms are dated, however the beds are very comfortable (not typical of Mexico). Staff is friendly except bartenders and waiters. Pool bar did not open until 11 am! The food is average but offers variety of fish, beef, chicken, everything is buffet-style. Fresh fruit is abundant. Meal hours and lunchtime are not kid friendly unless you want burger/hot dogs every day. You must wait to have lunch at 2 pm and cannot wear your swim suit. If you want a trip at a bargain resort, this is works well and just don't spend lots of time in the room.

I just got back from the Park Royal and I thought it was excellent. Everyone there is really nice and extremely helpfull. Everything was very clean and everytime you walked around the resort you would see people cleaning various things. I thought the food was very good for an all inclusive. We only ate at the Itiliano resteraunt once but it was good too. We just didn't think is was that much better than the buffet style dinner so not worth making the reservations and dressing up. The rooms were very nice and we had a very nice view as well as the rest of the rooms as far as I could tell. We usually left a couple bucks for the maid and they did a very nice job and even made little animals with rolled up towels and flower pedals. They do try to sell you a timeshare (or membership as they call it) but were not to pushy. I did talk to a guy about it and thought about it but didn't buy. He helped me book a fishing trip and even took me to the dock and to a store to buy some sandals another time. (his name was Jose). The only thing i was dissapointed with was the selection at the bars but I guess for an all inclusive you can't expect that much. Overall I had an excellent time and am planning to go back next year!

I have been to many Pacific resort towns and by far, the beach in Ixtapa is the best for swimming. The water is so warm and it is safe enough to swim in the ocean. The hotel is old and needs some repair but we spent most the time on the beach anyway. The service is very good and the food is your typical all inclusive, some good, some not so good. We enjoyed it and will go back but probably check out a different hotel.

My wife and I went here with our two best friends. Don't expect the hotel to be a 5 star resort. Expect clean rooms (we had flower and towel animal arrangements almost every day) with firm beds. Expect good buffet style food. Breakfast was always good. The mexican buffet night was the best dinner. Expect well maintained, lush grounds. The recreational equipment (Kayaks, bikes, snorkeling gear) was in pretty good shape. The evening shows are pretty good most nights. The walks on the beach, snorkling, and jet skiing are the best. If you go with a laidback attitude not expecting perfection you will certainly enjoy this place.

The hotel is gorgeous. Slate floors throughout, w/stucco type walls in vibrant colors. The hotel is open to all the outdoors so when you are inside, it's almost like being in a patio all the time w/the ocean breezes and sound engulfing your every senses. The staff are definitely top notch and although they don't speak english they are willing to provide you with excellent service. The restaurants at the resort were excellent! The rooms w/private balconies allowing you to sit and soak up the rays or just have your doors open and sleep to the sound of the ocean. The entire place was so wide spread, tropical and just beautiful Las Brisas, the Breezes, lives up to its name. Enjoying an evening night cap in the lobby bar w/the breezes flowing through was divine! This is a must stay place!

The stay at the hotel was great. The room was clean, the service was great. The pools were beautiful and the food and drinks were better than most all inclusives that we have been to. The beach was also very nice and well kept. We had a very good experience at the Barcelo Resort and would return again.
