My parents, a sister and her family and my sister in laws stayed in this Hotel for a week recently. I made the reservation for my parents so they could stay in the same hotel as my sister and her family. The comments I received were: 1. It is a large resort targeting families (typical of an All Inclusive Resort). This resort is popular with Mexican families. 2. The food is good. They have several options and a good French restaurant that must people are not aware. They have a Mexican fiesta and festival at a little plaza at nights. 3. The rooms are nice and comfortable, but nothing fancy. 4. The beach/ocean at the resort is very dangerous, so careful...strong waves and undercurrent. 5. It is a family resort so it gets crowded during the weekends, holidays and vacations, so expect that; if you are looking for a more luxurious peaceful resort, look elsewhere. Overall very satisfied with the resort, perfect for a family vacation...if you don't want crowds, then avoid Mexican holidays, vacations or/and weekends.

This resort is OK for the money if you have kids, the food is less than OK, same food over and over. The only restaurant (Italian) is BAD.This resort is clean and the people work hard to keep it clean. All the rooms has ocean view so don't pay extra for one!!!..the rooms are very simple they need new TV's,the bathrooms are old and smell really bad (drain problems maybe). Next time I will pay more for a better resort.

Excellent value, we had a great time. Although it is an all-inclusive resort, I would strongly recommend to have dinner in the restaurant s outside the hotel. There is a bunch of good qulity restaurants and it's a nice break from the hotel food. I would definitely come back to Ixtapa and this resort.

Qualton Ixtapa is a different type of resort for the average American vacationer, singles or families. Qualton Ixtapa is a great resort for Mexican families and young adults! Although everyone was very nice and friendly it was a bit disconcerting for us at first, as we spoke very little Spanish. The Qualton Ixtapa brings busloads of people from the interior of Mexico every Thursday and the hotel is full until Sunday when they all go back home. It is very busy and noisy and then somewhat quiet from Monday until Thursday, but none of this is mentioned in any of the reviews we read nor in any of the resort descriptions and activities. The hotel reviews we read didn't even sound like the same hotel. This is NOT a hotel for seniors, it is best for young adults or families. There is a lot of walking and the main dining area is uphill. All this should be mentioned in your description of the facilities. The pools are nice. but a bit in disrepair. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the grounds are open and kept just beautiful. There is security throughout the hotel and grounds. The drinks flow freely at the bars. The food is plentiful but just average for an all-inclusive. We did have a good time and we learned more Spanish than we arrived with. All in all I would go back and try it again.

Las Brisas is great for a week long get away! My husband and I thought the hotel was beautiful and the service staff top notch. The room was fine, but the balcony and ocean view made it wonderful! The ocean was too rough for us to swim (April 2010), but the pool was nice and had plenty of chairs. I think there were a fair amount of people staying at the resort, but it never felt like it. We didn't take the all inclusive plan, but opted to dine in Ixtapa or Zihuat. Most of the time we took the bus to get something to eat or shop and took a cab back to avoid the walk up the hill back to the hotel. Overall, we'd definitely go back. Next time we would probably take the all inclusive plan, drinks and food were a bit spending if paying cash, but we didn't think it was out of line for a nice resort.

Pool and Beach are wonderful. Food seemed average for an All-inclusive Mexican resort. Maids and cleanliness were good. Very family friendly resort. My husband and I were unlucky and got stuck with a room in which the air condition didn't work very well, the ceiling in the bathroom leaked water, and the floor of the bathroom was always soaking wet. We were told that they were booked and couldn't change rooms. This was my fifth trip to Mexico and third trip to an All-Inclusive Resort, so I was a little disappointed in the quality of the room, but Ixtapa and the surrounding area were beautiful. I would go back but, wouldn't stay in this hotel again.
