Our experience at the Sheridan was outstanding. From the moment we drove onto the property we were treated like royalty. The greeting as we got out of our vehicle, made us feel like they were pleased we were staying there. The hotel entrance was decorated in Hawaiian style, and the check-in process was great. They had placed us in a room different then what we had booked, and were upgraded at no charge, to the deluxe ocean view room, a far cry from what we were expecting. The views were phenomenal, and after seeing the room and the view, we would have paid the additional price for the room. Room service is available until 2300 hrs, and they have many different restaurants to choose from on site. House Keeping was persistent to get your room clean, so if you want to sleep in late, put out the come back later sign. The Beach pool was wonderful, and the ocean was great. The activities center loans towels for you, so you dont have to bring yours. If you want to see certain things, talk guest services. Since Kauai is a small Island, you can drive to many places in one day. Just watch out for the ever changing speed limit signs. If you are looking to have a relaxing vacation, and dont want to spend most of your day driving, you will be pleased with The Sheridan Kauai Resort.

We stayed here with our 18-month-old daughter for a week. It's perfectly good as a base - not luxury but has everything you need. Broadband is free in the rooms, maid service was great, kitchen well equipped. Good cheap laundry facilities on site and the swimming pools were clean and looked inviting although I didn't use them. There's a beach just across the road. It was quiet, and there are restaurants within walking distance, as well as a few big supermarkets and shopping areas. For the price, it was great. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a resort-type place, but for somewhere to stay with good ameneties in a good location I would recommend it.

The Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club is a wonderful hotel. I was fortunate to have a room on the first floor, looking out on the beautiful pool. The grounds are beautiful and the environment is serene, a great location for adults seeking a relaxing atmosphere. There were two drawbacks: Every time someone went through the door in the main hallway, my hotel dooor would slam. I would NOT recommend Cafe Portofino. It is a pricey restaurant, which is fine if the food and service are good. However, the service was absolutely horrible (wait staff were inattentive, had to ask twice for bread, etc.)and my medium rare filet mignon was initially served extremely well done. The owner/manager was alerted by staff that my filet had to be sent back, my travel companion had to eat alone while I waited for my second filet (which was absolutely bloody the second time)and the owner did not even attempt to remedy the situation by offering apologies or a complementary glass of wine, etc.

My wife and I spent a week at the Kauai Coast Resort in early September, 2005. It was simply beautiful. Our room was a one bedroom, with a separate living area and kitchen. It was very clean, and just as nice as the pictures we saw on the internet. The hotel is located directly on a beach, although the beach is not really good for swimming or laying in the sun. There isn't much sand - mostly just rocks. However, the beach is great to look at. The hotel is also located next to the Coconut Marketplace shopping area, which is very convenient. There is a convenience shop, a few restaurants, and plenty of little shops. The NCL cruise ship that docks in Kauaii bussed passengers over to this shopping area. Our 'ocean view' room did have a view of the ocean, but it was limited - you could only see it from one corner of our balcony, looking around some trees. Overall, a wonderful and beautiful place - highly recommended.

This hotel is beyond words. It is absolutely amazing in every way and far exeeded our expectations. The friendliness and service is the best I've ever seen. The hotel's pools alone are worth the stay...huge salt water pool lagoon, safari-like river pool with waterfalls and slides, jacuzzis, etc. The hotel lobey is all open style filled with exotic plants, flowers and parrots!..one parrot in particular will amaze you with his tricks. The beach is beautiful...there are short trails that lead up to a cliff where the view is amazing and romantic. However, be aware that most of Kauai's beaches are very dangerous....but that said there are many spots on the island to swim...and of course snorkle. Don't forget sun block!!...the sun is extreme! There is a $15 a day resort fee but let me tell you it is well worth it....you get an unbelievable free breakfast buffet ever day in one of their resturants...every food you can think of including sushi(on some days) and is all open style set next to a huge Koi pond with swans and an ocean view. This Hotel is great for everyone....families and kids will love it as well as honeymooners. This was our honeymoon vacation and we can't wait to go back to take our kids there in the someday. Kauai is a beatiful island with much to see and do especially in you love seclusion and nature. So in conclusion it was by far our best vacation ever and I would strongly reconmend this hotel to anyone.

This was our second hotel on Kauai, having stayed for the first week in the Southern area of the island. We would highly recommend this hotel if you like being pampered in an exquisite setting! The North of the island is gloriously scenic, and whilst there is only a small beach at the hotel, there are many excellent beaches nearby. Princeville is a wonderful, picture perfect, location with shops, restaurants, and a supermarket. If you choose to walk from the hotel to the shopping center, it is 2 miles on paved manicured walkways through beautiful, ocean-bordered surroundings. Alternatively, the route makes an excellent exercise course, notably popular with joggers and walkers. We loved this resort and plan to return soon!

This hotel looks and feels like a 5 star hotel. There are lots of pools ( I think 5, but could be more as the resort is very big) there is a slide for the kids and the beach is right infront of the resort. The rooms were clean, we had a pool facing view which was awesome. The service is fantastic and the buffet breakfast was great. I think the location is great, it was only a 5min drive to the closest town and if you are planning on doing activities is not far from the locations. Overall I will stay at this hotel again and highly recommend it.

We had a great week at the resort. Very peaceful and quiet. I kept waiting to hear roosters as some other reviews had talked about but never heard a single one. Short walk to the beach and one of the better surf spots on the southern tip of the island. Kauai is beautiful and we are already planning our next trip back.
