I had low expectations but this was the only resort I could find that didn't charge you daily resort fees and we were on a budget. It actually exceeded my expectations. They upgraded us to a room with a king bed and a balcony which really made all the difference. The room and pool were clean, the beach area was nice, and all in all a great 3 to 3 1/2 star resort. Don't eat or drink here though. It was incredibly expensive. Luckily there was a refrigerator in the room and we were able to stock up on drinks and snacks at the local grocery store. Plus there are 4 excellent restaurants within walking distance north of the resort.

I spent a week at Ocean Pointe with my wife and 6 year old. I basically booked this resort because it appeared to be a great deal for the money, and I was right on the money. The property is beautiful and is located nicely between Key Largo and Islamorada so you can hit both areas easily. The rooms (which are really condos) are individually owned but rented out by the resort's property management group, and thus the stay feels somewhat like a timeshare versus a typical hotel stay. The other guests were a mix of familys, retirees, and a few honeymooners. This place is probably too quiet for spring breakers. Overall, it's a really nice resort. The decor is very clean but kinda typical beachy - lots of white wicker, etc. The resort ammenenties like the pool and beach are great. If you love the keys like we do and basically get down to either dive or fish, plus eat all the great food, then this resort is a great place from which to base your vacation. If you have kids then you'll love the multiple bedrooms. One final note - if you're interested in buying one of the condos be prepared - going rate is currently $475,000.

This resort was recently taken over by Hilton. They have updated the rooms, but still have work to do on other areas. Outside painting and remodeling were being completed during the week that we stayed. The pool is on the other side of the resort, although it is a beautiful pool area, it is a short walk away from the beach. The beach is small, but very nice. Both the pool area and the beach have full service bars with food available. The staff at the resort were wonderful! Everyone was very friendly, accomodating and actually seemed to care if you were enjoying your vacation. I am sure with the future renovations completed, it will be quite the resort. The property is beautiful and has many trails through the beautiful "hammock forest". We enjoyed our stay at the Key Largo Grande and celebrated our 30th anniversary in beautiful Key Largo, FL.

We only stayed here for one night. The front desk lady went above and beyond to explain the activities in the Northern Keys and the resort itself. The one bedroom apartments are on the lower level. Parking for guests is off on the side while the owners get to park directly in front of the door. The resort is in great condition. The only one thing that frightened me was a lady (which could have had one too many pina coladas) that was standing on the corner and saying very odd things. This was obviously not the resort's fault but still something that put a damper on my stay at the Mariner's Resort Villas and Marina.
