I had low expectations but this was the only resort I could find that didn't charge you daily resort fees and we were on a budget. It actually exceeded my expectations. They upgraded us to a room with a king bed and a balcony which really made all the difference. The room and pool were clean, the beach area was nice, and all in all a great 3 to 3 1/2 star resort. Don't eat or drink here though. It was incredibly expensive. Luckily there was a refrigerator in the room and we were able to stock up on drinks and snacks at the local grocery store. Plus there are 4 excellent restaurants within walking distance north of the resort.

This was the most affordable and closest key for us to visit to get in: our fishing, snorkeling and watersports. The conveniences far outweighed the inconveniences. For a family of five the 2 bedroom suite was perfect. The staff was very attentive, the jacuzzi tub was broken upon arrival, but fixed during our stay, I'm sure if I would have mentioned the broken couchbed sooner, it would have been fixed too! It was nice to have a full kitchen, and I didn't need to bring my own blender for Margueritas! The dryer over washer unit was great to have; I was able to give our beach towels a quick wash at night so they were always fresh for the next day. Seeing our boat in it's slip from our balcony was a great, even though there was no need to worry about security. Beach was good for easy snorkeling, Couldn't figure out the hours of the restaurant/lounge. Continental breakast was very basic, but sufficient, Don't count on the dockmaster, he's only there for weekends even though we still had to pay a launch fee and slip rental. Will definitely make this an annual visit, but be sure to voice any concerns upon arrival. A one day trip to Key West was easy enough. Quickest resort in the keys to get to when driving with 3 kids!

Stayed at the Key Largo Grande Resort & Beach Club for 2 nights at the end of July 2010. Price, which included breakfast, was good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. Setting is great with beach access, nature trails and picturesque swimming pool. Not close to any other properties sense of seclusion helps to chillout. A bonus was a manatee in the boat harbour on the first night. Overall a great place for a short stay on a florida keys road trip.

We only stayed here for one night. The front desk lady went above and beyond to explain the activities in the Northern Keys and the resort itself. The one bedroom apartments are on the lower level. Parking for guests is off on the side while the owners get to park directly in front of the door. The resort is in great condition. The only one thing that frightened me was a lady (which could have had one too many pina coladas) that was standing on the corner and saying very odd things. This was obviously not the resort's fault but still something that put a damper on my stay at the Mariner's Resort Villas and Marina.
