One of the best resorts we've ever stayed in. Absolutely top class. Gorgeous views, private beach, excellent facilities. Food & drink prices reflect the luxury status of the resort but there are lovely beachfront restaurants just 10min walk away along the beach path, that are typical Thai cheap prices. The resort is about an hour from Haad Rin by car and it's a very rough journey as all jungle dirt roads. They do offer a shuttle bus to & back from the Full Moon Party which was expensive but definitely worth it. There is also a speedboat service but this wasn't able to run due to the choppy sea. We stayed as part of our honeymoon & it is the perfect resort for a romantic getaway. Definitely recommend the rooms with the direct access to the Infinity pool as this was just incredible. We will definitely be returning!

The resort takes nearly an hour to reach from the bottom of the mountain to the top where the resort is situated, extremely bad and dusty route, many taxis were not willing to drive up. Its also far away from local villages and shops, especially if you are travelling especially for the full moon party or wanting to go to local tourist areas/activities. However, if its relaxing you want the hotel is amazing. Absolutely fab views, very relaxing.

Read any negative reviews then ignore them. Some reviewers are Pathetic. Mark, the manager introduced himself and in our experience does not deserve some of the comments made. Great resort on THE perfect beach. Fabulous beakfast!

At the end of one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand you will find this resort. Located on the quite side of Koh Phangan, this location is perfect for relaxing. The resort's on-sight food is fantastic, and the staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. If you want excitement, you can find Haad Rin 30 minutes away via taxi. I can't wait to return!

I don't often take the time to write a review, but since myself and my partner were both very pleased with our stay at Havava Beach Resort, we felt we should write this - partly as a way of saying thanks. We received a warm welcome when we arrived, and the knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating lady at reception helped us plan out our time in Koh Phangan. The room was very nice, and had character and a fair sized balcony. On our second day we arrived back to our room to find some towel sculptures and rose petals! I'm not sure if this is a standard thing they do, or if they assumed we might be on our honeymoon, but either way, it was nice, and appreciated! The location was ideal for us, there is a fair range of places to eat on this beach, and the food at Havana is really good - when on holiday we usually try somewhere new each evening, but we ate twice at Havana, and enjoyed the experience on both occasions. A short walk down the beach, and there are some nice massage places, some evening entertainment - e.g. a place with music and fire sticks, some places with louder music, other places for a more romantic meal, prices very reasonable throughout. There is a regular boat service travelling from this hotel's beach south to other beaches, and on to Koh Samui. We took this down to the next beach for a walk up a waterfall - recommended. On one day of our visit we went for a day trip snorkelling - it was a great trip. We mentioned we we'd probably miss breakfast as we would need to leave so early, and without prompting our friendly lady at reception offered to have a breakfast prepared for us so that we could eat in our room before leaving. At other hotels there had been strict rules to not use the pool after a certain time... at Havana, we'd use the pool late, and one of the staff would notice and turn on the in-pool lighting for us. All the staff we met seemed genuinely nice, happy and friendly - it's something that you can't get from 'training', but that you can get from running a business well and treating your employees well. Staff, in particularly the lady at reception, when out of their way - and beyond our expectations, to help us on a number of occasions. We would happily go back and spend more time at the Havana. a brand new budget hotel, we went during the offseason and found we were the only ones there! the resort is on a beach, built like a circle of about 10 huts around the central restaurant and poool. though the beach was rocky, but the view was to die for. though i only wish that the huts were built with a view of the beach... the staff was very attentive, and the food was tasty and good.(and cheap)i did not have a look at the spa, but our request for a thai massage was met with a guy hopping on to a bike and getting three masseuses, in about 10 mins. this is a simple, functional hotel with a great view, good food and very peaceful area, about 30-45 mins from the Hard Rin Beach.

Milky bay is half way between two of the main cities on the island of Kho phangan and is somewhat mis - leadingly represented by a small sign hidden between a petrol station and a small supermarket. Arriving on a hot humid day after several hours on a cramped ferry and spending the last week in what could be considered half star accomodation our main thought was oh no not again..... However what we found behind such an inauspicious location was a little slice of heaven. Spread out over a small grounds is what could only be described as a tropical oasis - palm trees, shaded grounds, private beach this resort had it all. Staying in the smallest room we were still granted a free bottle of champaigne, massive double bed, bathroom, ensuite, living area, tv and most important air con! The pool, restuarant and bar area all over look the small private beach and had views of what is one of the most fantastic sunsets to be seen in all of thailand. Food and drink that were served were all of the highest 5 star quality - even when the power went out over the whole island! Whilst the food, location and rooms were all outstanding what made this resort were the staff and the atmosphere. Friendly, eager to please and quite willing to share a game of pool, join us in a party or help us get ready for a big night they made this resort worth coming back for! so for honeymooners, friends, couples or families i would highly recommend this resort - sheer bliss!
