We staid at the Amari Koh Samui for 6 nights and enjoyed its location - the resort is located a little bit away from the busy area, yet it is easily within walking distance. The rooms are very convenient;however the bathrooms could use a makeover. Breakfast is fantastic and the public areas are well maintained. Unfortunately, prices in the restaurant and in the spa are very high compared to what you could get along the beach or in town. Also, there's only free wifi at the bar and not in the rooms. Overall, a good choice for Koh Samui.

We booked a room at this resort at the last minute based on a couple reviews we read. I can not begin to state how satisfied we were with the hotel quality and the service received. I am definitely coming back to this resort the next time I'm in Thailand. We enjoyed every moment here and wish we could have stayed longer. The only thing I wish was different, which the resort can do nothing about, is I wish the beach had some waves to enjoy. It is a very calm beach area, but extremely clean and relaxing.

Upon arriving the short drive from the airport to the resort we were greeted with a nice cold drink and refreshing towel. The grounds are just beautiful! The rooms were modern and chic, i loved the fresh flowers everywhere. Our room had a gorgeous view! Breakfast buffet was delicious! The main pool was stunning! it was a short walk to Choengman Beach. ...but best of all was everyone's kindness and hospitality. the 2nd day of our trip i had a motorbike accident which we were able to rent at the resort. After a long day in the hospital, they had helped our nurse make arrangements to get us back to the resort, navigated the taxi driver after he got lost, made changes to our room so that it was on the first floor, and helped us make arrangements back to the hospital the next morning. After being in an accident in a foreign country they had helped make everything less stressful for my husband and I. but this was something i noticed not just with us because of our unfortunate situation, i could see it in the staff interactions with the other hotel guest in the lobby, throughout the grounds and in the restuarant. i also noticed how kid friendly the place was! if we ever get a chance to go back to thailand, i would definetly go back to this resort! it was simply beautiful.

I stayed at the Impiana resort together with my wife for 4 night in January 2012. The resort is in excellent condition. The room was lovely, and so was the private beach. Pool was rather small though and you need to take a taxi to get to the heart of Chaweng beach, but those will only cost you 100-150 Baht and are very easy to get. There's also a shuttle service from the hotel free of charge, that runs 4 times a day. The staff was friendly and the food was great. All in all - excellent experience. Warmly recommended.

the hotel is in an excellent central, but still quiet, location on lamai beach, with ample street and beach options for food, drinks, entertainment, shopping. the grounds were beautifully kept as was the room. clean, up to date, well run. the restaurant and beach bar were a bit expensive, but the quality was good. i would definitely recommend this resort.

I stayed at Chaweng Regent with my partner for 5 nights in a deluxe bungalow. It was located a couple steps from the garden pool which was great. Both the garden and beach pool are very clean as well in general the whole resort area is maintained quite well. All staff that we spoke to were very friendly and most of their english was ok, not the best, but if you speak clearly to them they can understand the jist of what you're saying. Our room was very nice and clean, the only negative was the bed, which is not very comfortable (it's quite hard) and the lighting switches/system is a bit confusing, but you get the hang of it. The resort's location is perfect, right at the start of all the restaurants and shops on chaweng road. Everything is walking distance. The resort also has 2 restaurants. Both are quite pricey compared to the outside street restaurants/pubs. But I do recommend either dining or sitting by the bar at the Red Snapper as the 3 musicians that play nightly are amazing. Great singing and music, very enjoyable. So overall our stay here was great. We enjoyed every moment and would definately stay again if we came back to Koh Samui.

The only negative on this resort was the fact that the sand on the beach was corse. From start to finish, this resort was fantastic. Friendly staff, good food selection at breakfast, comfortable, relaxing resort with very good rooms. The spa experiences are well worth a try. Restaurant food is very nice as well. I would highly recommend this resort.

A very beautiful resort on a beautiful beach. Food not the best. We paid a ridiculous amount for a New Years Buffet that was absolute rubbish!! Had there not been a massive miscommunication between hotels.com, ourselves and the resort we would have made dinner reservations elsewhere. The Spa facilities are amazing! Best 'Mai Tais' I drank in all of Thailand. Do try them! Staff not as well informed about the resort and its facilities or as willing to help as we would have liked. Got much better service from the other places we stayed in Thailand. Not many of the staff can speak passable english, so we found ourselves having to speak to several different staff members before getting any issues resolved. It was frustrating and took too much time.

Resortti ihan ok! Kaikki toimi ihan hyvin. Varaukset olivat juuri sovitusti. Jokaiselle löytyivät kunnon sängyt. Ranta oli hyvä ja siisti. Sijainti erittäin sopiva lapsiperheelle. Positiivista oli myös ilmainen langaton nettiyhteys. Palvelu sen sijaan ravintolassa oli hidasta ja epäystävällistä. Tarjoilijat vaikuttivat tympeiltä ja kyllästyneiltä turisteihin ja työhönsä. Siivoojat sen sijaan olivat ystävällisiä ja ahkeria. Huoneisiin oli joka siivouksen yhteydessä laitettu uudet hauskat pyyheasetelmat ja siivous oli muutenkin mielestäni tehty huolella. Aamiainen oli tähän mennessä huonoin Thaimaassa. Aamiainen ei sisältänyt tomaattia, kurkkua eikä muitakaan vihanneksia. Myöskään tarjoilusta ei löytynyt juustoa. Leipää oli tarjolla vain yhtä sorttia, vaaleaa ja höttöistä. Aaamiastarjoilu oli vain kymmeneen asti ja jos satuit tulemaan paikalle vähän ennen kymmentä, moni tuote puuttui tai näytti jo aika epämiellyttävältä, esim hedelmät.

Only downside...no choice to eat somewhere but in the hotel. Thereis not even a supermarket around to buy water or groceries. And prices in the hotel are quite high! our next hotel on ko phangan e.g. had everything (see: santhiya resort and spa)

Stayed for 8 nights and had a wonderfull time. The service in this hotel is second to none and the staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in a deluxe room and found it a reasonable size clean and tidy. The house maid made different characters every day using the next days towels :) Food and drinks were very reasonable to the extent you did not need to go out of the resort to seek cheaper options and the food superb. In a good location in the middle of Chaweng beach but stay further north if you want to be closer to the action. The resturant next door "eat sense" is one of the best in Samui. All in all a very relaxing affordable well maintained resort

Came from Christmas Eve till the 2nd of Jan 2010. Fantastic resort at a low price. Came as a couple and found it very relaxing and enjoyable, but it seemed a toss up between couples and families. Quiet area that could use some local restaurants, but the service was top quality and would happily stay again!

One of the best resorts we've ever stayed in. Absolutely top class. Gorgeous views, private beach, excellent facilities. Food & drink prices reflect the luxury status of the resort but there are lovely beachfront restaurants just 10min walk away along the beach path, that are typical Thai cheap prices. The resort is about an hour from Haad Rin by car and it's a very rough journey as all jungle dirt roads. They do offer a shuttle bus to & back from the Full Moon Party which was expensive but definitely worth it. There is also a speedboat service but this wasn't able to run due to the choppy sea. We stayed as part of our honeymoon & it is the perfect resort for a romantic getaway. Definitely recommend the rooms with the direct access to the Infinity pool as this was just incredible. We will definitely be returning!

I recommend this hotel/resort for people that want to try and get away from the crowds, the sand on the beach is a little grainy..not as fine as Lamai Beach, which i thought was the best beach to hang out during the day, the sand was nice and not crowded like chaweng beach....chaweng beach is great during the night... i still recommend staying at this resort, renting a scooter for 300baht a day and riding around. chaweng beach is 10 mins and lamai about 20 mins...

Very good place for less money than higher end resorts on the island. Excellent restaurant with scenic views. Close to the airport, but arrange pickup with the hotel beforehand as their prices were much cheaper than airport service. Close to motorbike rentals. Hotel provides free van service to Chaweng area twice a day.

We highly recomend this resort. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable without being spectacular. The resort is central to all the Islands activities. The best shopping is at your doorstep without being intrusive. Chewang Beach is by far the most user friendly and attractive beach on the Island. Only a few negatives about the resort. The alchohol prices are much more expensive than other resorts and bars. The area where the breakfast is served is closed in with no air flow making it very hot and uncomfortable. (Maybe a ploy to stop you eating to much of the buffet). They have a beautiful beach restuarant that is not used at night. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definetly stay here again.

Location: quiet and secluded area, Thongson Bay. Away from the craziness of Chaweng Beach. Downside is you need a taxi ride (400-500 Baht) to anywhere else from the hotel, including going out to dinner to any other restaurant apart from the 2 in the resort. Resort/Room: pool villas are new, spacious, modern room with a plunge pool, great bathroom. The resort has beautiful gardens and 2 swimming pools. The infinity pool by the beach is the nicer and busier one. There is a gym and massage by pool (10am-5pm) is a FRACTION of the cost of the normal treatment (300bht vs 2900bht!) Internet/Wifi: No longer free wifi at the resort, even in the lobby area. Ludicrous 400 baht/hr to 2500bht for a week. They excel in everything else but they still resort to gouging their visitors for internet access. Many cafes/motels are giving free wifi, charging 400/hr is highway robbery ala Western hotels! 2 computers in the lobby you can use for free internet access. Restaurants: 2 on site. "The View" serves mostly western type food (not particularly good) and the more upmarket "Kaoh San thong" Thai restaurant which makes better food. prices in the resort don't include the 10% service charge and 7% government tax so factor that in. If you want the ocean view and good Thai food at much cheaper prices then check out the quiet restaurant next door to the resort (just walk to it from the beach). Staff: This is the star of this resort. Super friendly staff, keen to say hello and help out.

The resort takes nearly an hour to reach from the bottom of the mountain to the top where the resort is situated, extremely bad and dusty route, many taxis were not willing to drive up. Its also far away from local villages and shops, especially if you are travelling especially for the full moon party or wanting to go to local tourist areas/activities. However, if its relaxing you want the hotel is amazing. Absolutely fab views, very relaxing.

A little off the beaten path near the town of Lamai on Koh Samui, the Silavadee resort was a spectacular paradise getaway. Five-star service and accomodations at remarkable prices. All the comforts of home. Features included: phenomenal views, no bugs, 24-hour service, breathtaking breakfast buffet, private beach with free chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, etc, (the water was a little rocky), gorgeous infinity pool, immaculate facilities. Punnpreeda gives you a lot for the value. Free-standing cottages with plunge pools, privacy, room service, ocean views, etc. HOWEVER there is a lot lacking as well. First of all, the rooms are visibly run down. Walls are scuffed, there was some mold in the showers and fixtures were a bit worse for wear. This is not a resort, meaning that outside of your own cottage, there is no restaurant, bar or any other common area. The beach is tiny and not conducive for swimming or laying out. Furthermore, there aren't really lounge chairs provided for the beach. The staff is friendly but not overly knowledgeable about tours, restaurants, etc. They would basically offer us brochures without having an opinion. The location in Bophut is close to the airport and the pier there but that's it. Best nightlife and beaches are at least 20 min away. This hotel is great for privacy and that's it. You get a lot for your money but don't expect any of the amenities of a big resort.

We loved this place. It is exactly what it says it is, a boutique resort. We felt it would be 5 times the price if it was closer to the beach. It was extremely clean, and the grounds were maintained daily, as was the pool. We ate at the hotel restaurant which had lovely food and was reasonably priced. The service was excellent, and we received a very warm welcome. The rooms were quite big, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge, which is rare in Asia. The only downside was that it was probably a 15 minute walk to the beach, but we knew that in advance, and the resort certainly made up for it, it was great value. The resort also arranged scooter hire for us which was very cheap and so the location didn't matter so much. One other issue I would raise is that there are several cats which seem to hang around the restaurant. I'm not sure if these are pets, but whether they are pets or not, I generally feel that animals don't belong in restaurants.

When i booked the hotel i thought that it would be good enough and the prce was tempting!!! When we arrived there, (2 couples) we were suprised! The resort was perfect! The place, the view , the rooms, every single detail has been designed so carefully that you cannot imagine!The pool area is small but amazing!!!!Comfortable beds, drinks and private space if you want!! The location is very good as it is between lamai and Chaweng (5 minutes away from both areas)The staff is very kind and willing to help you !! They are vey generous and they do not try to make money from you!! I definitely recommend this hotel for relaxation!! We were all extremely satisfied!!!

I booked the standard room. It is in a building in front of the beautiful one you see in pictures. My room was not a very nice one and my AC was broke. They upgraded me to their main building as an upgrade. I was very grateful and never book in standard again. But will for sure again and again book at this resort. Our hotel stay at the Nora Buri was amazing!! We decided to upgrade to the pool villa after we viewed a few different rooms and decided that this room was too beautiful to pass up for the little extra money it costs. The facilities were fantastic and the staff were always ready with a smile and most accommodating. Our only criticism is that this resort is a little far from the main street and can be quite pricey if you need to keep catching taxi's a couple of times per day, however the sheer beauty of this resort is well worth it.

Stayed for 10 nites in beachfront Talay 02 from 26/610 to 6/7/10. The room was fantastic, modern, big & also a big bathroom. The view was magnificent. EVERY staff member was friendly & polite. The resort was very pretty with ponds & fountains & the pool area was good. The breakfast was good & adequate for the size of the resort. Friends also stayed in the poolside rooms & they were very happy too. I was a bit worried when i saw the reception area but everything else made up for it. We would not hesitate in recommending this resort.

The road up to the resort had huge potholes and looked very third world (water buffalo in a barbwire surrounded overgrown field), however the resort property itself and our bungalow were done so well I felt like we were at the Four Seasons Tahiti. Beautiful and the breakfast buffet was amazing. Could not take a shower or use the beautiful bath because of extreme sulfur smell and slippery feel. Orchids everywhere and manicured gardens...amazing. Also, open air lobby was beautiful but watch out for the mosquitos.

Beautiful Resort, Relaxing atmosphere, Approx 20minute moped ride to Chaweng the main area. The resort's food as overpriced, average and took a long time to arrive. However it was an amazing resort if this can be rectified. There is a place at the start of the street that has cheap massages and a travel booking desk including moped hire. The resort day spa is also really overpriced. There is a resturant right next door ran by the locals, it was excellent!!! They even went to the market and purchased seafood for us for the next day! ( its on the right hand side if your looking towards the beach. Overall beautiful hotel but needs some improvement on the food price/quality and dayspa pricing.

I don't often take the time to write a review, but since myself and my partner were both very pleased with our stay at Havava Beach Resort, we felt we should write this - partly as a way of saying thanks. We received a warm welcome when we arrived, and the knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating lady at reception helped us plan out our time in Koh Phangan. The room was very nice, and had character and a fair sized balcony. On our second day we arrived back to our room to find some towel sculptures and rose petals! I'm not sure if this is a standard thing they do, or if they assumed we might be on our honeymoon, but either way, it was nice, and appreciated! The location was ideal for us, there is a fair range of places to eat on this beach, and the food at Havana is really good - when on holiday we usually try somewhere new each evening, but we ate twice at Havana, and enjoyed the experience on both occasions. A short walk down the beach, and there are some nice massage places, some evening entertainment - e.g. a place with music and fire sticks, some places with louder music, other places for a more romantic meal, prices very reasonable throughout. There is a regular boat service travelling from this hotel's beach south to other beaches, and on to Koh Samui. We took this down to the next beach for a walk up a waterfall - recommended. On one day of our visit we went for a day trip snorkelling - it was a great trip. We mentioned we we'd probably miss breakfast as we would need to leave so early, and without prompting our friendly lady at reception offered to have a breakfast prepared for us so that we could eat in our room before leaving. At other hotels there had been strict rules to not use the pool after a certain time... at Havana, we'd use the pool late, and one of the staff would notice and turn on the in-pool lighting for us. All the staff we met seemed genuinely nice, happy and friendly - it's something that you can't get from 'training', but that you can get from running a business well and treating your employees well. Staff, in particularly the lady at reception, when out of their way - and beyond our expectations, to help us on a number of occasions. We would happily go back and spend more time at the Havana. a brand new budget hotel, we went during the offseason and found we were the only ones there! the resort is on a beach, built like a circle of about 10 huts around the central restaurant and poool. though the beach was rocky, but the view was to die for. though i only wish that the huts were built with a view of the beach... the staff was very attentive, and the food was tasty and good.(and cheap)i did not have a look at the spa, but our request for a thai massage was met with a guy hopping on to a bike and getting three masseuses, in about 10 mins. this is a simple, functional hotel with a great view, good food and very peaceful area, about 30-45 mins from the Hard Rin Beach.

We stayed at several hotels throughout Thailand and Charm Churee blew the rest of them out of the water. My wife and I went there to relax and relax we did. Charm Churee is more family oriented than most of the other resorts on Koh Tao and yet was still close enough to MAA HEAD and SAIREE Village if you want to go out on the town. If going to Koh Tao especially with a family you must stay at Charm Churee.

When we arrived at this hotel, it had just been taken over by Le Meridien (1 week, I believe). However, our first impressions were very good. I booked the hotel transfer from our hotel and the guy was there waiting for us as Samui airport, he tool care of luggage etc etc and gave us a little island tour while he was driving to the hotel. On arrival, I was quite impressed with the hotel, it's entrance (once off the main road) is pretty impressive, check in was slick and our bags arrived to our room just after we did. We stayed in a standard room and I have to say, I was pretty impressed, we had a massive terrace, partial sea view and a huge room - I also loved the 'outside' bathroom - it was so novel, but so well put together - it was bigger than some apartments I've lived in, in London :0) The hotel itself is quite small, the pool area is nice and views across the beach and out to sea were awesome, as was a nice romantic stroll along their promenade. But h is covered in Lamai beach is covered in coral, is small and not great for sitting around. The food at the hotel was a mixed bag. The breakfast buffet was excellent, great choice and quite long hours if you want to sleep in. However, the a la carte menu was rubbish and the Thai food appalling - if you eat here, stick to the western food (club sandwich etc etc, they were OK). As you'd expect in a resort food and drink is v pricey in Thai terms. However, the staff would bend over backwards to help you! Overall, great hotel!

Highly recommend this place for couples. Booked in a Castaway bungalow on the beach. Very romantic. Staff is very friendly. Service is not five star, but did not expect it to be. Food is great at resturant. Not located near main beach, so not convenient to nightlife. Road to hotel is difficult to navigate, however, hotel runs a shuttle several times a day and did not have problem getting a cab back to the resort. Mosquitos can be a problem so plan accordingly.

The Coconut resort is located on the south west side of Samui. It's location is set well away from the mainstream island locations. This setting provides a quiet and intermate experience. The resort is modern and well maintained. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. All can speak some level of English although some much better than others. We stayed for four nights, the staff went out of the way to make our stay comfortable. Due to the secluded location, the hotel has achieved many ways to entertain guests. Daily bus rides are offerd for no charge to several beaches across the island, scooters and cars are availble to rent at very resonable costs and the hotel offers activites. The hotel restaurant offers a wide selection of food at resonable prices and evening meals are offered with special events. All additional events and themes provided by the hotel are subtle and easily avoidable should one care to. The overall tone is subtle and relaxing. We did experience one blackout during our stay plunging the whole resort into darkness. The staff were very helpful and power returned after an hour or so. The WIFI is decidedly inconsistent, many times myself and other guests could not connect to one of their many routers. Spa treatments need to be booked one day in advance and is very small, space may not always be avaible. But the treatments are very good and reasonably priced. The majority of the guests were couples of all ages, several families were aslo there with young children. Due to the location the other guests were quiet and all enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The private beach is clean and has many sun chairs. It faces south east. I visited in late December and found the mornings to be cloudless and very hot then clouds would roll in at lunchtime. Temperature was consistently 30 degrees with no rain. I was very satisfied with this resort, I felt very comfortable and also believe it to be very good value for money.

Enjoyed our stay a lot. Cosy and quiet resort and neighbourhood. Excellent service (e.g. arranged a shower room to us on our check-out day 'cause our flight took off in the evening). Only minus was that the thai food menu of the restaurant could be better for spicy food lover and pesco-vegetarian. The quality of food, though, was excellent.

We stayed at Mimosa Resort and Spa for 9 nights for our honeymoon. The room we had was exactly as it looked on their website and featured a King sized bed, a two person Jacuzzi in the front courtyard and an outdoor rain shower. We enjoyed our stay and the staff there were very friendly and extra helpful. While we were there it rained night and day and the staff went out of their way to make sure we stayed dry moving to and from our room. They went out of their way to book our tours etc. and got them at 'local' costs. There were a few instances where language barriers caused a few small errors in room service orders and restaurant orders, but nothing tha really bothered us. The pricing of the restaurant is a little expensive and the menu is small as is the pricing at the spa, but alternatives can easily be found along the main road or in town. One of the few downfalls of this resort is that it is a fair way out from the main town Chaweng and there is not much going on in the surrounding areas. You will definitely need to hire some sort of vehicle to get around if you are staying here. Also the road leading toward the resort had a sand bridge over a creek which l flooded and most of the bridge collapsed meaning only small vehicles such as motorbikes were able to cross, so we were stuck at the resort the last couple of days of our stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and if we were looking for a quiet retreat in Koh Samui, we would definitely stay again :D

Milky bay is half way between two of the main cities on the island of Kho phangan and is somewhat mis - leadingly represented by a small sign hidden between a petrol station and a small supermarket. Arriving on a hot humid day after several hours on a cramped ferry and spending the last week in what could be considered half star accomodation our main thought was oh no not again..... However what we found behind such an inauspicious location was a little slice of heaven. Spread out over a small grounds is what could only be described as a tropical oasis - palm trees, shaded grounds, private beach this resort had it all. Staying in the smallest room we were still granted a free bottle of champaigne, massive double bed, bathroom, ensuite, living area, tv and most important air con! The pool, restuarant and bar area all over look the small private beach and had views of what is one of the most fantastic sunsets to be seen in all of thailand. Food and drink that were served were all of the highest 5 star quality - even when the power went out over the whole island! Whilst the food, location and rooms were all outstanding what made this resort were the staff and the atmosphere. Friendly, eager to please and quite willing to share a game of pool, join us in a party or help us get ready for a big night they made this resort worth coming back for! so for honeymooners, friends, couples or families i would highly recommend this resort - sheer bliss!

A very lovely hotel with lots of different choice of accommodation. We had a hotel room with a beautiful sea view and great sunset views. It has a lovely little private beach and a nice swimming pool and two choices about where to eat. The gardens of the grounds where very well maintained and beautiful which meant there was a lot of wildlife to see. We stayed out of season so it was very quiet and relaxing and a good base to do day trips from such as Ko Tao (excellent snorkelling). This island is very laid back and different to Ko Samui so we weren't pressurised into buying anything or hassled on the beaches and the people were extremely friendly. When getting a ferry across from Ko Samui make sure you go to Thong Sala peer as it is the closest one to the resort.

This hotel is in a great location - on one side is the main street of Chaweng, and on the other is the beach. The resort grounds themselves are peaceful and beautiful. It also has a beautiful pool right near the beach, and friendly staff. Only minor negatives are no hair dryer and no hand soap. I would definitely stay here again.

This is by far the best place I stayed at during my trip to Thailand! Value for doesnt begin to describe this place! The facilities are nice and unassuming. All of the comforts of a modern resort, but with a personal touch! The service was outstanding ( especially when compared to the Thai standard), the food was delicious and affordable and Natasha and her team really make an effort to make it a fun and enjoyable vacation destination! We stayed here in One bedroom suite for 3 nights. The suite is clean, well-decorated and stylish! Mini bar in room which re-fill the beers and soft drinks everyday is very very great. King-size bed and the sofa are great to sleep/ lying on. Jacuzzi inside bathroom is BIG and amazing! We love it so much!! Shower is powerful but the shower gel is a bit diluted... There are many mosquitos staying in the bathroom although we have used an incense that repels mosquitos. Remember well close the door before you sleep otherwise you will be bit in the morning. (Luckily there are not many in the night...) Location of the resort is good, not very far away from the crowded center. Just a bit dark at night once you walked out the resort. Wi-fi all around the resort is great. Staffs are helpful, smart and polite. They could answer your questions in quick response. Just a kindly reminder: Don't rent the Jet-Ski at the beach (especially the one in front of Akyra) which does not belongs to any hotels/resorts among the beach! I have been cheated since they haven't showed us the time before we started the game, just told us that you have overtime playing and need to pay THB$500 more once we finished!! We have suggested to call the police but finally we dealt with paying THB$200 to settle down but absolutely we DON'T wanna pay!! Speical Thanks to the manager of Akyra - Tor helped us to settle it down. Otherwise we have to call the police and waste time.

We really enjoyed our stay in Ban's Diving Resort. It located by the main beach (Seiree) so there were many things to do around. Our hilltop view bungalows were though quite far away and we needed to climb a steep hill so those particular bungalows do not suit people with some difficulties in climbing. The rooms were really clean and the views were amazing. Also the prices in the hotels' restaurant were good. Staff was also helpful.

This hotel was a great value for what we paid. It was right on the beach and the view from our bungalow was incredible. If you're looking for the same service and accommodations as a five-star resort, you won't find it here. You can't use air conditioning until after 6pm and you can't flush toilet paper in the bathroom. But the beach, remoteness, and view make up for this. You need a four-wheel drive vehicle to access the hotel, and it's sometimes recognized as Tanote Bay Resort instead of Family Tanod Bay Resort. The staff doesn't hover but will be helpful when you make a request. The lounge area/restaurant had a fun hostel atmosphere- you put in your own orders to the kitchen and can play games, drink and socialize with the other tourists while overlooking the beach. Good, cheap food- my husband highly recommends the shakes! One tip- if you're coming from the pier, be sure to book your transfer to the hotel ahead of time or else you'll end up paying 2-3x more for a taxi once you arrive.
