Krabi Tipa resort is well situated in Ao Nang, 2 minute walk from the beach, shops, restaraunts etc but set back far enough from the main road you would believe you were situated deep in the forest. Lovely hotel, lovely resort, we never wanted to come home!

In many ways the Krabi Thai Village Resort was quite nice. The room was large, clean, and fairly comfortable. Having a flower placed on the bed after the room was made up each day was a nice touch. The pool and grounds were were lovely. The television, however, came from a different era. It was very small with an extremely limited selection of English language channels. For my wife and me, its location presented the biggest problem. It was about a twenty minute walk from the hotel to the beach. Under normal circumstances this would not be much of a problem. However, when returning after a morning at the beach and lunch, we found the walk in the early afternoon heat to be a bit much. The same walk in the evening from the restaurants along the water did not present a problem. The staff was efficient and helpful. However, overall it lacked the warmth we found in other Thai hotels. In summary, I would recommend this hotel to those who plan to use it as a base for going on tours and trips. However, if you plan to spend a great deal of time on the beach at Ao Nang, you may want to try a hotel that it a bit closer.

We extended our stay at Maritime because it is so beautiful. Maritime is set in a park with a lagoon, private dock, giant swimming pool, and great restaurants, as well as many different activities to keep you busy. We felt that we didn't need to leave the resort for days because it was so peaceful and relaxing, and there was so much to do there. We also took advantage of their very cheap shuttle into Ao Nang Beach and Krabi town when we were ready to 'get back to the city.' The staff were friendly and helpful. If we go back to Thailand, we would definitely go back to Maritime - it was one of the highlites of our whole trip.

We stayed in the Pakasai Resort on our last night in between staying in Railay and flying home from Krabi airport. The hotel is conveniently located between two beaches, and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Ao Nang itself is nothing special, although we managed to find a very nice restaurant by the beach. The rooms were very clean, and the facilities modern.
