The Ritz Carlton was exquisite. In a magical location in one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Our surroundings couldn't be faulted it was like being in paradise. The pool area is large, and beautifully kept. But there are a few things that I didn't find acceptable. The fact that there are NO umbrella in the pool area, which meant that you were forced to hire a cabana if you didn't want to get burnt. The extra $20 resort fee was uneccessary considering how much you pay for the room. Just a tip, include it in your room rate, people wouldn't get so annoyed. But by far the most dissapointing thing was the condition of the mattress on the sofa bed. It was the worst mattess we've ever had to sleep, on or was it the spings? No criticism of the staff they were delightful beyond compare.

The hotel is beautiful! It's very tropcial with exotic animals and the pool area is very spacious with plenty of chairs. The rooms are very nice and the beds are extremely comfortable. The cleaning service was great. The service of the hotel was good, but could have been a little more helpful with the activities. The beach area is not real big, but if you walk out to the beach to the left and walk down there are plenty of places to lay out, but you will have to take your towel to lay on. The food is expensive, but was absolutely wonderful and worth the money. If you eat off the Resort it is a little cheaper. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We recently spent two weeks in a one bedroom ocean view condo and really enjoyed ourselves. The condo had a full kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry in unit, and a lanai with a sundeck. The resort felt like a home rather than a vacation condo, and was very quiet and relaxing. We had access to four pools and didn't share the one we used with anyone the whole time! The only bad thing we found was that the concierge didn't call back when we asked for information. Otherwise, it was great. We would definitely stay here again!

This hotel was comfortable, clean and had a great location. It was clean, the grounds were well kept and the room was spacious. I had a deluxe oceanfront room with a gorgeous view of the strait between Maui, Lanai and Molokai. Got to see whales, dolphins and sea turtles from the lanai. Hotel food is very, very expensive but was very good. The fresh fruit was delicious and the pastry was out of this world. The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and courteous. Although there are shuttles, you will need a car. Lovely, un-crowded beach that you can swim in which is apparently not possible on a lot of Hawaiian beaches in the winter. Maui was a great place for a relaxing vacation as it is nowhere near as crowded as Oahu. Highly recommend Maui and the Sheraton Maui Resort.

The Westin Maui was wonderful! It was very kid-friendly...the perfect place for a family vacation. The hotel lobby was just amazing...with a beautiful fish pond, waterfalls, and gardens...as well as flamingos, parrots, ducks, and swans! The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive, and our room was very clean and comfortable. There were four pools on three levels, and the kids loved the waterslides. The poolside service was great too. The gym was nice, and overlooked the beautiful lobby/pool area. The hotel sits on the beautiful Ka'anapali beach...and is just steps from the shops and restaurants down the beach walk. We will definitely visit the Westin Maui Resort and Spa again!

We stayed at the Royal Lahaina Hotel in November 2011 for our Honeymoon and loved it. After reading some of the other reviews we were a little nervous, but it met all of our expectations, knowing we were not booking one of the super-luxury resorts. By booking a less expensive hotel we were able to afford other luxuries and activities on our trip, especially considering that most of the time was out spent enjoying the island. We booked a tower room and were upgraded to a partial ocean view which was perfect with a view of the mountains and the ocean. It was quiet, clean and comfortable for the nine nights we were there. The parking spaces were definitely small, but manageable - the $10/day fee was explained when we checked in. We were close to the Lahaina town area which was quaint with good shopping too. The breakfast in the hotel was expensive, but we used our in-room fridge to keep food when we didn't feel like spending that much. The beach was not crowded and touristy like some of the others on the island/black rock area. The pool was small compared to other hotels, but most guests seemed to be enjoying the beach instead anyway. The staff was friendly and we took advantage of the onsite Expedia desk who were all very helpful in booking our excursions. It may not be the right choice for someone looking for a plush resort, but provided a great experience for us and we would stay there again!

My husband and I were only in Maui for the weekend and were so glad we found this place. It would be a wonderful place to take the family. Having access to the adjacent resorts was a plus. Service was above and beyond our expectations. The location was terrific. We were able to do whale watching right on the beach area in front of ALII. We felt right at home and very relaxed.
