Although the grounds were nicely landscaped after walking around Disney Parks all day the last thing you wanted to do was walk another 1/2 mile to get back to the lobby, shop and restaurants. The rooms were clean but only offer double size beds or one king, would have preferred at least two queen size beds. The ferry service to Downtown was nice but I would not stay at this Resort again.

We loved our stay at the Carribean Beach Resort. We were travelling with my parents (elderly, on oxygen) and our kids (1 and 4 years old), which could have presented some issues. The staff at the hotel went out of their way to help us, most impressively by communicating with Expedia about our needs and delivering the perfect room selection. We were placed in rooms close to the parking lot and shuttle stop for convenience for our old folks and next to the pool and steps away from a playground and white sand beach for the convenience of our kids and my wife who really wanted a trip to the Carribean! The whole trip was gorgeous and staying on property was totally worth it. Our parking permit allowed us to park at all of the parks which saved us $$ and the convenience that Disney has built in for its on-property guests was awesome. The rooms were lovely. Our room had not been properly cleaned but a phone call to the desk remedied the issue immediately. The bell-staff were perfectly willing to move our oxygen supplies to the room instead of thinking of us as a pain as some hotels do. We thoroghly enjoyed the stay and have decided to make this a regular trip!

Don't be fooled. This is not a Disney Resort. The hotel is sponsored by Disney but it is not part of the Disney package. There is no Disney shuttle service to and from the airport. You must provide your own transportation. Taxis cost upwards to $70 each way to and from the airport. Package deliveries from the parks takes longer than normal for the Swan than the Resort hotels. I rented a car and paid expensive parking fees even though I parked the car myself and the lot is a few minutes walk from the lobby. On top of this, the my electronic card to get in and out was always not working. Other than that, nothing to really complain about. Not too crowded and the service was above par for a hotel in the class.

We stayed outside of the main building, which was a bit of a walk, but so much quieter! Our room was very spacious, especially for Disney Resorts. We had a mini-patio out back so we could relax after our daughter went to sleep. Only first floor rooms have a patio and other floors don't have a balcony outside of the main tower. Staff was very friendly and helpful for our entire stay. They gave our daughter a toy during check-in and picked us up in a golf cart and drove us along with our luggage to check-out. The monorail transportation is pricelss, especially with a toddler during the hot summer months! We will stay here again next year!

We've been to DisneyWorld several times, but since this was a short trip we thought we'd try one of the lower priced resorts. We spent almost all of our time in the parks, so we didn't use many of the resort amenities. However, the resort did have a cafeteria and store that were open until midnight and the pool seemed to be full of kids/families until well after midnight. The biggest drawback was its location. While the shuttle service took you straight to and from any park that you wanted, the ride was quite long (15+ minutes). Not bad in general, but VERY long after a full day of fun with the kids. Even with the bus ride length, the resort was clean, we never had to wait more than 15 minutes to get on a bus, and the staff was great. I'd recommend it for a lower priced resort. (Next time we're going to take it up a notch though...)

The hotel is lovely, quiet and within walking distance to Epcot, the Boardwalk and Hollywood studios. We were there right before Christmas, and they even had a pine scent piped into the lobby, which was quite lovely. The pool is amazing (filled with sand) and all the amenities are great. The Yachtsman's Steakhouse is particularly good. The only things I have to complain about are that I bought my park tickets online and was told to pick them up at willcall at any park. The front desk informed me that I didn't need to do that, because I could just go to the YachtClub concierge. I waited for about 40 minutes while a nice concierge and his very unfriendly manager tried to get my tickets. In the end the unfriendly manager sent me to a park to pick them up. Also at the Cape May cafe, after we were seated for dinner, one of the hosts came up and asked us to move, which would be shocking anywhere, but especially at a luxury Disney resort.

This was a fantastic alternative to the Disney hotels! I was hoping to get a room at one of the All-Star Resorts, but they were all full. I booked a room at this hotel, and I'll definitely come back. The transportation to and from the Disney Parks was on-time, reliable and quick, and I think it actually took us less time to get back to our rooms at the end of the day. The hotel itself was lovely, and I loved the convenience store that was open 24 hours. We were able to grab Pop-Tarts and milk, doughnuts, coffee in the mornings on our way out to the busses.. We were able to grab a salad/sandwich and a beer to take to the room when coming in from the parks at 10:30.. Loved the prices AND the convenience. My children enjoyed the pool area, even though it wasn't a themed pool.. By the time we had spent two days in the parks, they didn't care whether the pool was themed or not! They had a great time swimming, and the chairs around the pool were as comfy as some beds in which I've slept in lesser hotels! We LOVED the proximity to Downtown Disney! We crossed over the VERY Pedestrian-friendly street to shop at World of Disney, and we ate a couple of times at Earl of Sandwich...where the prices and food were great. From the hotel room to Downtown Disney took us about 6 minutes. Overall, this was a great alternative to the Disney hotels... Price was MUCH better, room as nicer, still had the Extra Magic Hours, quicker transportation... We'll definitely be back!

I have stayed at many Disney owned WDW properties: Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans, Coronado, Pop Century and All-Star Sports. This is the first time I've gone to Disney and stayed anywhere else. The location of the Dolphin is very convenient. The walk to Epcot isn't bad. The boats to Hollywood Studios and Epcot are nice but I wish there was the option of a bus to these parks as well. This is especially true for Epcot because the boat drops you off at the International Gateway on the World Showcase side. At WDW the resorts that have boats (Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, Polynesian) also have the bus option. I would say the buses leaving the Dolphin are slower on average as well. Still, nice hotel. Beautiful pool and cabana bar. NIce gym. I didn't mind the resort fee because it included full internet access and you would pay $9.95 a day at a WDW value or moderate for that. WDW resorts do have free parking which is nice. We rented our car from National and were able to just hand the keys to the valet and go to our room which was great. The restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin are more expensive, generally, than the Disney owned properties. The fridge in the room at the Dolphin was great. It comes standard. At a WDW value resort it would cost $10 a day. It doesn't get very cold, however. We had ours replaced the first night. As an SPG member I was hoping for an upgrade to a nicer room and it didn't happen but I really can't complain too much because we got a great rate. As a mother to two kids I would say the price of a kids' meal at the WDW resorts is a huge advantage. At any Disney owned resort dining hall you can do breakfast (two Mickey waffles, bacon, grapes and juice or milk) for under $5. For lunch you can do personal pizza, fruit and milk or juice for $5. You'll pay closer to $8 or $9 at the Swan and Dolphin and with two kids for a week that really adds up. In the end, I would choose the Dolphin over a WDW value resort (assuming I could get the same great rate. The Magical Express is not available to Swan and Dolphin guests which is a huge money saver if you're coming from Orlando airport. The Dolphin is definitely the best non-Disney resort in the area because of its proximity to the parks. The Disney moderate and deluxe resorts win out, however.
