We loved this hotel! It was convenient to everything - just across the street from the heavenly ski resort, shopping and a grocery store. It felt like a small boutique hotel; very different from the 50's style motel lodges that seemed to be your only other choice if you didn't want to stay in a resort. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed and bedding. Reception was friendly and helpful, and gave us good suggestions on things to see and places to eat. One evening they even had a free wine tasting and local BBQ. Our only downside was the water was very slow to drain in the shower, but to their defense, we never called to have it looked at either because it didn't bother us too much. I would give this place two thumbs up. We really enjoyed it!

The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe was a very nice stay for my wife and I. The food was better than advertised, the rooms were comfortable, the small casino was fun, and the "swim outside" style pool was very cool and very useful in the cold weather. As for what to watch out for here - note that the resort is on the north side if the lake which, while far nicer than the south side, simply doesn't offer much else outside of the Hyatt and its grounds. If you want to go out to eat, or to a movie, or to see Emerald Lake, etc. you'll find yourself driving very far away. The hotel is on the complete other side of the Lake to South Lake Tahoe where the big casinos are, but we really didn't see much reason to go there - unless you were going to Heavenly ski resort of course. And finally, be aware that while there are three movie theaters near the hotel, they are the smallest, oldest, lowest-tech theaters you've seen in 20 years and each show either one or two movies. I would definitely go back but I would go in the middle of summer or winter. I would strongly advise renting a car because you'll need it to explore the Lake - there's a beautiful drive that takes you all around the Lake in about 3 hours.

My husband and I stayed at the Resort at Squaw Creek during the last week in September. During this time of the year, the hotel was not busy at all. The resort is beautiful and the location is gorgeous! Staff very friendly and helpful. Very close to Squaw Village and a short car ride (10 minutes) to Tahoe City & Lake Tahoe. They have a free shuttle to Squaw Village, but you can easily walk there or take your own vehicle. One of our best vacations! Everyone at the resort and in the neighboring towns were very friendly. Found great local coffee shops and eateries. Biked along Lake Tahoe. The resort has bikes you can rent, but we found a better price in Tahoe City with better bikes. Concierge could have been more knowledgable about hiking trails. We would definitely go back. Loved it off season. We would love to see how it is during season.

We usually stay at Harvey's on our trips to Tahoe. It's right at Stateline and keeps us close to the snow as well as trips to Carson City or Reno. But since Harrah's has taken over, we've noticed that Harvey's is getting some make overs we aren't always happy with. The great buffet on the top floor was replaced by the higher end steak restaurant. The coffee shop is now gone and is now a deli or Hard Rock. So you have to trek over to Harrah's to get other food choices. We had a king sized bed in the Mountain Tower for our family of three. The room was comfortable with a nice view of the Heavenly resort ski run. The bed was as hard as a rock. The pillows were down but as flat as a crepe. It wasn't comfortable but we figured that there weren't that many other options short of trying to Goldielocks every bed in the place. Every night my husband would turn the heat on but when we left the next morning, we'd come back to the air conditioning on. Which would be fine if it wasn't 30 degrees Fahrenheit out. It would be fine had they turned the heater off when we were gone (room sensors work at other hotels to help on that). But if you're looking for some place that is close to the resorts but far enough away so you can relax, this is still a nice place.

This hotel is very nice, it's in such a wonderful place and it's affordable. (Even on a budget.) I would highly recommend this to place to anyone and everyone who wants to go Lake Tahoe. I especially liked that the lake was literally 2 minute walk from the room. It was also good to have such a variety of water activities right there! They have boating, jet skiing, para-sailing, kayaking, paddle boating, and more. This hotel was located right in the middle of all the action. There are many places to shop, eat, and just hang out, all which are all with in walking distance. This trip was memorable, mostly because of this resort! Come experience the fun in Tahoe!

Had taken a King's size bed room. It was a decent comfortable room. Only disadvantage was the heater could not be controlled in the room and we could not open the window in the room. It was clean and spacious and quite good for the discounted prices. Location was awesome. It was very close to two very good casinos, Harrahs and Harveys as well as the Heavenly Ski resort and all the sight seeing places too. We loved our stay there. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and starbucks within the hotel gives you great coffee in the morning!

The hotel is good as any, except that as you expect a casino resort hotel, you have to go through the casino floor before you get to hotel elevators and the whafting smell of alcohol and smoke combined from the casino floor starts your experience of staying at one. Ofcourse, the food and coffee are tasteless and quality less, unless you are drunk and hungry because you have been gambling all night long and your body craves for calories. If you like quality food, don't even think about eating in a casino resort hotel. It is close to other casinos, so good for anyone planning on gambling away the whole stay. But, if you are planning on sightseeing or other outdoor activities it is better to find a motel not close to the stateline. On the whole it is a good place if you are in to partying and gambling, not good if you are not in to any high octane action.

They accomidated our need to check in early, the room was nice, the people were nice, and the price wasn't bad. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't provide coffe in the room and the vending machines were very expensive so you had to make sure you bought something to drink. It is right next to Heavenly ski resort and that was a plus and ofcourse the area has all that u would need within walking distance.
