We had reservations at the Marriott Resort across the way but cancelled because they were doing construction on the Marriott and then booked with Park 968 Hotel based on reviews. Wrong decision. The hotel does not have confortable beds unlike what other reviewers commented. The customer service is horrible, one girl who was there most of the weekend, couldn't be any less helpful with "knowing the information" and hearing her phone etiquette was even worse. Save your money and go to the Marriott across the street for the same price.

Everybody was very nice, and the atmosphere was what you would expect of a high quality hotel. We stayed in the cottages on the lake, which was a beautiful setting and well worth the extra money - waking up and looking out the window onto the lake is a rare treat worthy of a getaway. The entire staff were exceptionally polite and very willing to do the little extras to make the stay memorable. The one exception was the concierge desk. First they said that the boat cruise would run with a minimum number of people, then cancelled the cruise even though the minimum was reached. The Lone Eagle Grill: atmosphere was absolutely stunning, the service was exceptional (and kid friendly), but the food was institutional. Despite the description of the dress code as "casual resort wear", people were dressed very nicely, as appropriately so.

When we arrived at the hotel there was no one in the lobby to check us in.... We waited said hello multiple times, finally I got out my cell phone and called the front desk hoping someone would hear the phone and come answer it. I waited for over 10 minutes before this guy came out of the back room, all the while the phone is ringing off the hook. Then when he came out there was no pardon me or explination just whats your last name, here's your keys, here are our rules, sign here. I was annoyed. The view from the room was wonderful, and the location was very convenient to heavenly ski resort, and walking distance from the casino/ nightlife area.

Harvey's Resort and Casino facilities is integrated with Harrah's across the street. One can use escalators and a brief walkway under the street that separates them in order to use both facilities. Harrah's, for example, has an outstanding buffet dinner in the restaurant on the top floor. During my stay at Harveys I had the best roast beef that I've had in years. Harrah's American River Dance restaurant on the basement level which is open 24/7 is also a very good place for dinner as well other meals. Although some of Harvey's restaurants are not open during weekdays, its proximity to Harrah's makes it a great choice. And room rates tend to be less expensive at Harvey's. It's also a great location for skiing. It is only about two blocks from the Gondola that takes one up to the Heavenly ski lifts. And I stayed at Harvey's to ski, not gamble. I didn't bet even a quarter. From Reno airport it is possible to take a bus to Harvey's and the lobby and check-in desk are just steps from where the bus drops one off. I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is very nice, it's in such a wonderful place and it's affordable. (Even on a budget.) I would highly recommend this to place to anyone and everyone who wants to go Lake Tahoe. I especially liked that the lake was literally 2 minute walk from the room. It was also good to have such a variety of water activities right there! They have boating, jet skiing, para-sailing, kayaking, paddle boating, and more. This hotel was located right in the middle of all the action. There are many places to shop, eat, and just hang out, all which are all with in walking distance. This trip was memorable, mostly because of this resort! Come experience the fun in Tahoe!

The Horizon Casino Resort is a beautifully located on Lake Tahoe and next to other casinos as wel as a whole variety of shops, services and entertainment. If you can't walk to some place you want to visit, then you can take a shuttle. The only downfall we experienced was that it was pretty hot when we were there and the air conditioning would not stay on and the window only opened about four inches. But overall I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is good as any, except that as you expect a casino resort hotel, you have to go through the casino floor before you get to hotel elevators and the whafting smell of alcohol and smoke combined from the casino floor starts your experience of staying at one. Ofcourse, the food and coffee are tasteless and quality less, unless you are drunk and hungry because you have been gambling all night long and your body craves for calories. If you like quality food, don't even think about eating in a casino resort hotel. It is close to other casinos, so good for anyone planning on gambling away the whole stay. But, if you are planning on sightseeing or other outdoor activities it is better to find a motel not close to the stateline. On the whole it is a good place if you are in to partying and gambling, not good if you are not in to any high octane action.

The hotel is centrally located in the Stateline area of Lake Tahoe and is in walking distance of the Heavenly ski resort and entertainment area. Some of the entertainment options at Harrahs seem to be limited during the week and most of nightclubs/shows were only going on weekends. Overall, I did enjoy my stay at Harrahs and plan to visit again.
