The resort overlooked a beautiful lake and was easy to access. Our room was in an older section of the property, but it was large and super clean. The best part was the wonderfully helpful woman at the reception area. She gave us easy to follow directions how to get to various attractions in town and recommended restaurants. She helped us figure out which was the best Lord of the Rings tour to take, based on our interest and time frame. It was so nice that she was able to book the tour for us and had us keep our car at the hotel until we got back.

We stayed in the Copthorn Resort for 2 nights in February 2009. To save some money, we chose not to get a lakefront room. The hotel is very clean, offers free parking in a garage, and has all the facilities we hoped for, including cheap guest laundry and reasonably cheap internet terminals. It's just a few blocks from the hotel to the pedestrian area downtown; 5 minutes of walking gets you there. Would definitely stay there again if we visited Queenstown another time...
