If you were the unlucky few that had to experience the decline and demise of the previous known Peppers or York Fairmont Resort then you'll be happy to know, that existence has been erased from the Fairmont History. So with this review I am not trying to be biased but I've never been to Fairmont when it was under the previous management but I remember all the stories and very negative reviews a few years back and it put me off from ever staying then. So after all the research and positive reviews of the "new" management of Fairmont we decided to give it a try. The "new" Fairmont Resort is now exactly what it needs to be, a 4 1/2 star Luxury resort! Sure they may have some further aspects to achieve but the experience my Wife and I had for our 2 night Anniversary getaway been absolutely blissful. From the moment we arrived and greeted by the all smiling Concierge, to the quality & friendly service of their wait staff in the fabulously decorated mountains feel of Embers Bar, equipped with an Open Fireplace, the quality gourmet feed, then to our refurbished Deluxe suite, being impressively… BIG. I could say we can fit 2 families at least in this one room. Offering a king sized bed, plush and very high end (and heavy) leather furniture, latest modern gadgetry - LCD TV, iPod dock, a bathroom even more modern than ours at home and not to forget, the beautiful views of the Jamison Valley on the private balcony. I’m a simple man and the above was enough to have me gobsmacked but wait, there’s more - the swimming pools, indoor & outdoor spas, sauna was a nice treat after a long & hot day at the Blue Mountains. A morning walk around the grounds was peaceful and very grounding. And the overall look & atmosphere of the resort made us really feel we were “high up†in the Mountains. It was the complete package. It surely was very romantic for this couple as the appeal and purpose of this resort certainly hit the spot. I must admit we have been to many Hotels and Resorts in our life time and this Resort, with its very "friendly mountains" service of Staff to its amazing location and views of the Jamison Valley, the Fairmont Resort has etched its way to the top of my Hotel/Resort list. We also had the pleasure to briefly chat to one of the oldest staff of the Fairmont Resort, who had been through all its perils of the Pepper & York era, and even he admits and genuinely amazed of how much this new Fairmont has changed drastically. He was very proud of its improvements and stated he couldn’t wait to see the Fairmont get even better and better in coming months. SO we will surely be back in the near future and this time, with the rest of the family and friends! Thank You to the Staff at Fairmont and cheers to the new management! I highly recommend giving the Fairmont Resort a try, especially if you were the unlucky travellers that had to experience it at its worst, I am sure you’ll be surprised as to how much it has changed. P.S. Here’s a Tip – If you have the budget and want to go all out, Go for the Deluxe Suites on the top floor, you cant go wrong.
