I traveled with my husband October 9-14. I am 25 and my hubby is 29. We are frequent travelers so we are kinda picky with the resorts we stay at. We thought the resort was beautiful! It's very clean, the rooms are spacious, the beach is clean, and the pool is one of the best we've been to. We booked the standard room which was nice but it had two beds and had a view of the parking lot/garden. The following day we decided to upgrade and the partial ocean view room was amazing! I would highly recommend upgrading. The restaurant on the resort was situated beautifully but the food was bland and very expensive. I don't mind paying $30 a plate if the food is good but save your money for Duke's just down the beach. That place has THE best dinner! I had their New York Steak- its delicious! If I visit Kauai again I will definately stay at the Kauai Marriott. It's in a perfect spot- a few mins away from the airport, shopping plaza near by, the weather is great (warmer than the North Shore), and its gorgeously landscaped. The only thing I would do different next trip is bring along our son. They have a kiddie pool with a slide and the resort is so spacious that the resort doesn't feel "overcrowded" with kids even though a lot of people brought their toddlers along with them. My son would have LOVED the parrot and the swan/ducks that live on the property and all of the pretty birds that walk around. So if you're debating if you should bring your little one this is a perfect family resort

The hotel is decent, although it is not a large resort. It has one restaurant and one store, so if you're looking for a large resort with a lot to do on the property don't stay here. If felt very quiet while we were there in February. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom recently renovated, nice new and clean fluffy towels, down pillows and comforter (although we didn't think the bed was very comfortable), very friendly staff. The pools were nice. Not a huge water-world park like some other Hawaiin resorts, but still very nice. There are two hot tubs, one with a small waterfall and one more secluded. The sand-bottom pool faces a nice view of the beach, which is not swimmable due to rough surf yeear round but is great for walking. You can go pretty far in either direction. If/when we return to Kauai, we plan to stay somewhere else for several reasons, none directly related to the quality or service at the Hilton. We'd like to experience another property in a different area of the island, and stay at a larger resort with more on site shopping and restaurants. It's a good property to stay at for a moderate budget, decent for families and for people who don;t plan to spend a lot of time at the resort - hey,it's Kauai, who plans to be in the hotel all day??

The Kauai Inn is an old-fashioned plantation style resort that was remodeled to modern standards while maintaining its charm. Naturally finished wooden floors and railings add to the atmosphere. Jalousie windows provide cross-ventilation. Although the rooms have individual A/C units, with the natural breezes and the ceiling fan, I didn't need to use it. The rooms also have a refrigerator and microwave. There's a continental breakfast with muffins, bagels, bread, toast and fruit every morning. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood's quiet except for the roosters crowing in the morning (Kauai is famous for its feral chickens). The bed was slightly soft, but adequate. The Kauai Inn is not a beach resort, but is a convenient base for exploring the island.
