What can you expect from Westin Los Cabos? It's beautiful, very well-maintained, has beachside pools and jacuzzi, a huge golf course, a mini golf course, roof top tennis course, nice clean gym and great spa. For the most part, the food was great but Americanized and in Mexico but no Mexican food. Expect to pay around $60 per meal per couple, not including drinks or tips. Cabo San Lucas is about 20 min. away and taxi costs about $30 each way. You can walk down to the main road and busses take you in same time for about $1.50. They pass by every 15 min. and stop running at 10 p.m. The hotel is in the middle of no where so is nice if you just want to stay at the resort and relax. You can literally lay on the sand till dawn watching the thousands of stars and hearing the crashing waves. This resort is not intended for people on a budget (expensive food and drinks) and for people planning to enjoy Cabo San Lucas and the beach waters. Resort has a private beach but the ocean is too dangerous to enter and there is a lifegurad posted making sure you do not enter. On a positive note, the resort is not a time share resort so you will not be harrassed to buy anything.

A wonderful resort that knows the meaning of customer service. How many resorts do you see the general manager walking amongst the guests on a daily basis to inquire about their stay? When the leader models this type of service it is no wonder that it exists at all levels. Great food, drinks, cleanliness and second to none location to be had at this well developed resort that has something to offer eveyone. You might find newer, but you won't find this level of service and attention to your needs at any other resort.

This resort is right in front of the marina and walking distance to all the major clus such as Squid Roe and Cabo Wabo. Hotel looks fantastic and huge. They offer a free shuttle to the main beach medano where all the bars are lined up on the beach and where Nikki Beach is located. You can also walk to the beach and it takes about 15-20mins. We did it and it was a quick walk. Our rate also included breakfast which was delicious and highly recommend you purchase. Our room had a view of the marina and would highly recommend paying a bit extra for a view. I would wake up early to watch the sunrise and it was amazing. Loved it. Our room came with fridge tv and good size bathroom. I would definitely stay here again for the price location and great quality of the resort

We were very pleased with the resort itself and the location. We've been to Cabo several times but never stayed in a hotel/resort. We were with a group of from ages 66 - 9 yrs old and all were happy with the resort itself, food and accomodations. Rooms were great with full kitchenettes which was handy. Staff were all very accomodating to us and friendly. Beach and pool were nice. Water taxis were always available outside the resort if you wanted to go anywhere and small grocery store on site had many items that you may need which you could charge to your room which was convenient. Food was great at the two restaurants. one was sports bar/buffet and entertainment dinner restaurant and the other was good for great breakfast buffet and higher end a la carte meals with fabulous view of Lands End. It was a little annoying that you had to sign off on every bill for all inclusive and the explanation of why that was necessary was not clear. You did get used to that as a routine though. We were there at Xmas time and if was quite festive with beautiful 2 story (real) Xmas tree in the lobby. Didn't miss Xmas at home at all. Would go back again definitely.

As soon as you are done checking in, they pass you off to someone who is "going to explain the resort to you and give you maps and coupons" but she was really trying to get us to go on a tour to sell us a timeshare. After a 6 hr flight and a 40 min car ride, I find this extremely irritating. She wasn't very pushy but I still found the situation annoying. After getting though that, we proceeded to our room. We paid for a regular room but had a beautiful, huge balcony overlooking the garden and the ocean. The bathroom was very big with a stand up shower that could probably hold 3 people comfortably (not that I tried). We went in August and the resort seemed deserted. That was fine for us but just seemed strange. The staff was great and there were plenty of them to get you whatever you needed during your stay. At one point the Internet wouldn't work for us. Right away someone from the front desk came and gave us the hotel password. The pools were really nice and the beach was a lot of fun but definitely not for swimming. They have 2 for 1 drinks at certain bars in the hotel at different times throughout the day. Definitely take advantage of that because drinks and food are expensive. We ate at 3 restaurants on property and thought the food was pretty bad. I don't think we are really that picky but who knows. We also ate at Sunset da Mona Lisa and the food was great. Overall, not sure I would go back. While the staff was great, the food wasn't and the resort is just too big.

Solmar suites are one of the oldest suites on the west side of Cabos, I liked staying in the bungelow, but the bed and pillows are terrible. The resort it self is pleasant and for the most part the employees are helpful, the food at La Roca is fair and not much of a bargin but convient. The happy hour every night is great and a good time to socialize. Walking the beach on the resort is great and sitting and watching the waves is wonderful, very quiet place to relax. Best part is walk to town is less than 10 minutes away and it is in town that your able to find lots of things to do and places to eat, which are much better than at the resort. If you don't mind going thru the timeshare pitch, you can come out with lots of discounts on activities and food. Its a gated resort so you'll feel safe, every time I walk back from town Solmar was pleasant to return too!! Its a laid back resort simple but clean.

This was our first time traveling to Mexico, and we were very pleased with the accommodations and service - both of which exceeded our expectations. Staff were welcoming, hospitable, and eager to please. They were constantly cleaning the resort and grooming the landscape, paying attention to the smallest of details. The property was beautiful and the views breath-taking. Our room was clean and spacious; the bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint is that we shared the room with tiny, harmless bugs (something I heard was common). I read several reviews concerning the cost of food on the resort. While it was more expensive than eating off-property, I found the prices to be comparable with that of U.S. resorts. The portions were appropriate; we even split a few dishes. The food was good, but again, the quality is comparable to U.S. resorts - not to 5-star restaurants. Overall, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff far outshined any minor complaints we may have had about the room or food. I would highly recommend this resort to those looking to relax, unwind, and be catered to!

The Cabo Villas Resort is a nice place to stay for any type of travers. The resort is very clean and not too busy. The beach is nice and safe swimming in front of the resort. The scuba diving was pretty good for the pacific, fun to watch the sea lions swim by you when your down 70 ft. Diving is right out in front of the resort so no long boat ride to the dive site, and can be arranged at the resort also. The fishing is great, we went out on a 32 ft yatch and cought fish all day. i would suggest you go to the marina to nogociate a price for the boats you can get a much better deal.

The resort was beautiful and extremely clean. The hotel spa was wonderful although a bit pricey. There is a shuttle from this hotel to it's sister hotels every hour but we found the other hotels boring and not much to do. The walk to downtown is not bad at all. About 10 minutes and pretty safe and crowded until about 8pm. We tried The Office and the Mango Deck. They are right along the beach about a 5-10 minute walk to the right of the resort. The Mango Deck is ok but The Office was very good but very pricey. The Office has Mexican Parties on Thursday so dinner there on Thursday is recommended. We actually tried another restaruant closer to the resort, again to the right of the resort, about 3 minute walk on the beach. The restaurant is call Nikki Los Cabos. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is part of the Mi Resort or Hotel I think. But it is highly recommended. The atmosphere is very romantic. And there is also a club in the resort that is beautiful call the Passion Club. It is best to go to this restaurant on Saturday night. The have a fire show that is a "DO Not Miss". The show starts a quarter to nine. It was so amazing it has to be one of the best shows we had seen. And they do not come around asking for tips after the show. All other places like The Office and Mango Deck have people asking for tips afterwards. You have to try the steaks. For some reason, seafood in Los Cabos is not as fresh as I though it should be.

My husband and I spent 4 days/3nights at Marina Fiesta. We did extensive research into what we were looking. This resort was perfect for us. We were looking for a low key, centrally located, all inclusive resort with a pool/bar combo with good food selections. I did not check any bags at the airport and I did as others advised and once I cleared customs, b-lined for the exit because of all the time share people waiting in the lobby area. The transportation service that I ordered with the package, had me delayed outside the airport for 45min. Once the van finally arrived, Marina Fiesta was the first stop (about 35min). At the hotel, check-in was a bit slow but not ridiculous. Our room was gorgeous! The view of the marina off our balcony was perfect! Located right over "Jacks", each evening we sipped Corona's on the balcony, a small band played tunes below as we people watched. The room was super clean everyday and we tipped the ladies appropriately to show our appreciation. The property was clean and the drinks were potent. The food was great and selection vast. I liked the variety of foods available in our all inclusive plan. We had to sign a bill every time, but in the end we had no additional charges. We went snorkeling and lounged on lovers beach in the afternoons, for a very cheap $15 per person rate via the many taxi's available. Checkout was long, be sure to leave an hour before hand so you don't miss your ride back to the airport! We loved it and will go back again!

My wife and I stayed in the Junior Suite with a King bed with Oceanview. The Junior Suite has an additional sofa/coffee table area. The room was the perfect size for our 4 day stay. We loved the balcony which had a direct view of the Sea of Cortez and the beach. You could also get a tan on the lounge chairs if you didn't feel like going down to the beach. The service was great as it seemed like there were almost as many workers as guests! The food was decent, but not worth the prices. There are 4 places to eat on the resort as well as a "Deli" which had sandwiches, coffee, snacks, cigars, sunglasses. We ate all our meals on the resort mainly out of convenience. We had room service twice, and it tasted better than eating at the restaurants. I also recommend getting a room package with the breakfast buffet included. It was our best meal of the day - tasty omelettes, fresh OJ, smoked salmon, French toast, etc. The Vibe is very relaxed and couples oriented. There were a few families with kids, but well-behaved. The other guests were not that friendly, but polite and classy. Next time, I will schedule a massage on the beach, go seadooing, and probably reserve 1 or 2 meals outside of resort. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and will definitely be back.

Loved Grand Faro! The main reason had to be the staff. I loved the activities director, Lucas. He was very fun and seemed to live at the hotel. The staff could read what I wanted and they were very respectful (except for the excursion lady...she seemed like she had something personal going on and was rude). There are plenty of things to do for free if you don't want to leave the hotel, don't be afraid to ask. There are several places to eat on the resort and at least one of them is almost always open so I did not go hungry. There are 2 restaurants included in the all inclusive that you have to make reservations at before 5 pm the day of the reservation. They are AMAZING. The waiters are fantastic and the food was extremely good (even vegetarian options). San Jose del Cabo was very safe. We were two white girls walking around and never felt unsafe or hassled on or off the resort. I love the town and go back in a heartbeat. Grand Faro is within walking distance of a little mall (5 minute walk), city center (25 minute walk), and on the beach. Best things about Grand Faro: Food, location, and Lucas. Worst things: A couple of obnoxious tourists which are inevitable at any Mexican resort. I traveled in June, low season, so it was very comfortable and relaxing. I also had all inclusive so I never had to worry about anything the whole time. Also, tip the staff. They make less a day than minimum wage for one hour of work in the States. A couple bucks is valued and appreciated.

Royal Salaris is a beautiful resort right on the ocean. The location is perfect and a great spot for walking along the beach. Of course, the weather was terrific! The service is fantastic and everything is very clean. The food was ok- same stuff over and over so enjoyed eating at the restaurants which added a bit of variety. I have been to resorts and taken cruises all over the world. This resort reminds me of the Carnival Cruise line. It is a party crowd- and a great value for those who are interested in this type of thing. The problem is that the resort is so crowded you can't even get a chair and not much shade. I heard people would get up at 4:00 AM to reserve their area. Everyone was cranky about their space and wouldn't share shade. They played loud music all day long so we couldn't sit on our patio and relax. They also had some loud games by the pool. The nightly entertainment was a bit crude and although it said it was for families, watching half naked girls dance is not my idea of entertainment for families. I would NOT encourage people to stay here if they want to quietly relax, read, enjoy some warm weather, and take walks along the beach. However, if you like the party scene this would be a good place for you and a very good value. Overall- not my favorite vacation and would not recommend to my friends but it all depends on what folks are looking for.

Upon arrival, I was a little disappointed. The resort was closer to the highway than I had imagined and more remote. However, this made little difference. My fears disappeared after 30 min. at this wonderful resort. The staff was exceptional and it was evident that everyone was dedicated to providing 5 star service to each guest. We did not rent a car, so we ate almost all of our meals at the hotel. I have to say that the choices, quality, preparation, and presentation of each meal was excellent and honestly better than the few restaurants we paid the $15-$20 taxi ride to visit. Service at the restaurant was attentive but not intrusive, and the view of the Sea of Cortez by firelight each evening was a treat. I was looking for a quiet and restful retreat. Unfortunately for the hotel, tourism was down and there were not many guests. For us, it was a bonus because it made the Marquis seem like our own private resort. I would encourage the hotel to provide a little more in the way of entertainment in the evening, since some of the guests may not want to visit other locations for the nightlife. There was a singer in the bar several of the nights we were there, but after one night, her set was repetitive and not very exciting. It also relied heavily on US Top 40 music, not something a tourist wants to hear in a beautiful Mexican resort. I was extremely pleased with the experience we had. I will visit again and will encourage my friends and family to do the same.

This resort was just renovated, so its very nice and new, very modern. The buffet was amazing, such great seafood. However, we were dissapointed because there are about 5 restaurants at the resort but all of them except for 1 was closed. They have a few bars and a sports bar, which is nice. They also serve food at the pool througout the day which was also a plus. The staff is nice and friendly, they have shows and entertainment nightly at the resort. The group of singers at the resort are very good! Our room was very nice and the bed was soo comfortable (probably the most comfortable out of any other resorts we have stayed at). The only down fall was that the water in the pools were pretty cold, most people did not swim in the water, which really sucks. you cant really go in the ocean there either because of the high tides. We went the first week of May so it the water should of been warmer. Also, they had a jacuzzi but it was not heated, so that was pointless. And another thing that we noticed is almost half the people staying at the resort kept tipping all the staff for all their services, even for just bringing them a drink or towel, etc. which didnt make sense to me because its all inclusive so you shouldnt need to tip. Overall it was a nice resort, but i would go later on in the summer when the water is warmer. The resort is 30 minutes away from cabo, so if youre looking for nightlife you have to drive to cabo. Theres not much going on around the hotel area.

My husband and I have travelled to MX before, but this was our first trip to CABO. The resort was beautiful. The service was exceptional. The view from our room was incredible. We stayed in a junior suite with an ocean view. The resort is very large, but everything is conveniently located within the resort. Although swimming is prohibited in the ocean at the hotel, there is a swimmable beach within walking distance. There are two large pools at the resort. One is supposed to be a "quite" pool and one the "activity" pool. But there were screaming babies at both pools, which made it hard to get any R & R. When people pay this amount of money for a vacation they shouldn't have to endure screaming babies or kids. There should be designated areas for adult only and kid only areas. The hotel doesnt offer much nightlife or night time entertainment. The food was okay but not exceptional. The swim up pool bars are not connected to the two large pools. They are in their own little pool areas about 50' away from the large pools. The resort is close to town. It cost around $6 p/p to take a taxi cab in to town. Beware should you leave the resort you will be approached numerous times by street vendors. The marina is a nice place for dinner and a high end shopping. be sure to go to Lover's Beach. The beach is gorgeous and you can swim in the ocean. Overall a great resort and great vacation.

My wife and I just returned from our third visit to this resort (Dec. 05, Feb. 07, Jan. 08). We are both 29 years old and love to travel. We've been all over the place and have not found a resort or destination that can top our Cabo experience. This is a quiet and peaceful resort where you should expect relaxation and time with someone special. There is almost nothing to do here and that is a big reason we love it. The resort is in a private, gated area, so there are no vendors! They have a mile-long beach to walk along the Pacific Ocean. The sound of the waves crashing in is breathtaking and you can sit in the sand and enjoy, what seems to be your own private beach. Even when the resort is occupied, we have taken long walks on the beach (I proposed here!) and you will be all by yourselves. The food is delicious and plentiful. You will not be hungry after one of these meals. Breakfast, lunch at the pool area, and dinner at Siempre will satisfy even the pickiest person. Service is excellent and usually handled in a seamless team effort. Pacifica offers relaxation, sophistication, Mediterranean design, delicious food, excellent service, comfortable beds, minimalist rooms, and peaceful walks along the beach by sunset and sunrise (the colors are indescribable!). The scent of lavender fills the resort and rooms and the soft earthy tones and lights magnify the beauty of the resort at sunset. Pure heaven!

Transportation from airport to resort was a pain. Read a review that recommended TransCabos, but no one at the airport seem to know what I was talking about. They were to busy pushing offers and incentives to visit their individual resort locations. Cost from airport to resort on the avg is about $65. I hear that it is usually a little cheaper but the taxis were on strike. Go figure. The resort was very nice. When I told the concriege that I was not interested in attedning one of the timeshare presentation, she was a little rude after that. She all at a seem fell into the I-really-don't-know mode. But I managed to find my way. The locals are on the beach right outside the resort and makes it hard to really enjoy the beach. They keep harassing you to buy their craft items. The resturants were great. I will definitely go back.

This resort is spectacular in all aspects except customer service. We had difficulty getting a top floor room which I had requested back in October of 2010, our refrigerator was to be stocked everyday and never was unless we made two or three calls. We had a confrontation with one of the hotel pool staff over two towels they said we were not supposed to have and demanded their return immediately. We constantly had to ask for drink refills as the staff just wasnt really concerned with this service. The quality of the food was ok, and the servings were more than sufficient. The positive aspect of this resort is the grounds, rooms, view and the Phase 1 pool. We spent almost everyday at the pool, and watched the sunset every night at Las Marias bar. Despite the problems with the service, we would probably go back. I will avoid the Time share presentation next time as the sales staff is relentless. This place is quiet for the most part and very relaxing. The spa is small, and lacking, I am sure this resort will continue to get better as it grows, it has the potential to be a Five Star facility.

The resort was beautiful, very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pools were very clean and family friendly. The views from the beach and beach pool of the famous arches were incredible. The buffet was nice and offered a wide variety of food, especially considering that it is an all inclusive resort. The alcohol was of average quality, not watered down. The staff did restock the comlimentary bar in the room every other day as promised. The nightly shows were entertaining and offered activities if you wanted to stay in the resort at night. The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The nightly noise in the room from the people in the halls would be the only complaint that I would have. The resort is located just a few minutes from downtown shopping and the marina this is a very convenient location if you want to get out and about! Pre-book your transportation from the airport to the resort and back before hand as it can be pricey. Take a shuttle not a taxi, as the taxis from the airport are very expensive.

Don't be scared of this resort's past name or reputation. This is a fun resort. If you can handle a topless optional pool and upstairs jacuzzi with sexually themed activities, then you'll have fun. If what this resort was known for is your gig, it can be found too.......it's just not "in your face." The drinks are flowing and plentiful and the food is great. Not all food is always available everyday. I would recommend travel with a spouse/partner or with a group of such. A few solo male travelers were noticed who just didn't seem to fit in. Cabo San Lucas is a 20-25 minute taxi ride away that'll run you $35 each way. Take a panga tour of the "arch" and surrounding beaches, it's very scenic. Ask the boat driver for a cooler to use, purchase some drinks/ice at the marina store and enjoy yourselves. Activities (snorkeling, swimming, parasailing ,etc) are more comfortable here because the water conditions are nice. The surf condition in front of the resort is almost always "black flag." San jose del Cabo is a smaller, quieter little town just to the east of the resort. It's good for a little shopping and eating, but not much else. Overall, a great little resort with good food, lots of drinks and a fun atmosphere. Great place to be with a group.

Honestly, I kept waiting for something to disappoint me, be it service, wait time for food, our room... but nothing did. What drew us to this resort was the small size (approx. 40 rooms). I was worried the timeshares flanking the resort would yield some unruly pool guests (as I had read in other reviews), but that concern was unfounded, at least during our stay. The hotel is absolutely stunning and meticulously maintained. Our room was gorgeous and spacious. We had a fantastic view of the lower pools and the ocean. The mini-bar was restocked daily. We also had dinner on the beach 2 out of the 4 nights we stayed and enjoyed it immensely. The other 2 nights we either dined in our room or the hotel's main restaurant -- no complaints with either. The wine list leaves much to be desired, but with a full bar, there are other beverage options. We left the resort only once to take a glass-bottomed boat/snorkeling tour in Cabo proper (I don't recommend it). The hotel took care of the tour reservation and transportation for us -- all we needed to do was be outside at the provided pick-up time. Painless. I can honestly say I have zero complaints. The staff were all accommodating: Adriana at the Concierge desk seems to know and take care of EVERYTHING you could possibly need and Cruz was our favorite server. The food was very good and we had a wonderful time overall. I would definitely return again.
