A resort that doesn't quite get the resort thing... service varied from very good to not good at all... rooms not that great, but beds were comfortable. pool areas and restaurants very good and location was good too. Front desk staff varied as well from okay to very unfriendly and non helpful. They need more signage in the hotel, maybe a map of the property would be useful and an outline of various services - like where you find the beach towels. Would not be very satisfactory to NA clientele - fortunately most were european.

Overall the hotel was very good. In general the staff were smart, attentive friendly and courteous. The Reception staff could have been a little more welcoming. The restaurant Le Bistro was excellent with a very good choice of food which was of a consistent high standard. Disturbing was the use of SAS Raddison Golden Bay resort name as a sales pitch for a TimeShare scheme at that resort on the basis of "visit our other resort and see if you would like to visit next time your in Malta" - encouraged with a wine voucher and a 50 euro for a meal in either hotel restaurant. We foolishly visited it was a half day time share sales pitch at Golden Bay - and guess what the meal voucher was not honoured at SAS Baypoint. We have told the management, as have other customers, but I will be interested to see if SAS Raddison continue to allow this misrepresentation to continue.

My wife and I have just returned from a very relaxing week in the Westin. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the best testament to the hotel was that we spent far more time "in resort" than we would have expected when booking. We went for a "Tower room" and really enjoyed the extra space provided by the additional terrace. I was slightly disappointed that our room was on the 3rd floor (which was effectively the lowest accomodation floor) - I'd misread the Westin web site and thought all of the tower rooms were on the 7th (non smoking) floor. However, despite this, our room (301) was great with a lovely view of the pool and the surrounding bay (I suspect almost all rooms have a sea view due to the hotel's great location). For reference, I think the *01 rooms would have a much better view than a *02 tower room. Some of the resort was closed as went in late September, but we didn't really notice this as there was still plenty for us. The main pool was great, with plenty of room for all and the bar and restaurants provided reasonably good food. The lido down by the sea was also really nice, being right next to the main pool also with plenty of loungers available. Overall we were very happy and would certainly recommend it to others.
