We had a great time on Plantation Island. This hotel is excellent for families with kids. It feels very safe and quiet even when hotel is fully occupied there is always a peaceful place to relax on the beach. Snorkeling is great right off the shore and sandbank is even better. There are small things that the resort could improve on mostly with the state of the rooms but nothing major. My daughter (11) enjoyed some of the Coconut club activities, loved kayaking and snorkeling and said this was the best vacation we ever had!

we booked two nights at mana not sure if we would spend our entire 5 nights n fiji there. we did end up staying another night there, so 3 nights in an island bure which are great, you dont need to spend the extra for the ocean view etc the island bures are in a great location. the island is small enough you can walk anywhere in no time. the meal buffets were really expensive 57$ for one dinner buffet. so we onlu ate breakfast buffet which was great. for dinner we wandered down to ratu kinis back packers and got great 12$ meals and cheap beer. snorkling is best off the north beach on the west point/headland.(not the beach with the jetty) it really was amazing we saw cuttlefish and all the reef fish. the mana beaches are really nice, we stayed one night on malolo and the beach was very tidal and rocky. mana was nicer be sure to hike to the lookout and to sunset beach at sunset! take time to talk to the ample staff they are great people. we saw the staff village, its a shanty town. for such a nice resort they make like 2$ an hour and dont even have doors on their employee houses, kind of disappointing. but i guess they live better than most impoverished fijians on the main land. i would definitely recommend this island and resort. you get a royal greeting and send off on the jetty. (go on the jetty at night and you see tons of fish swarming under the lights and big fish feeding)

My husband and I stayed at Likuliku Lagoon Resort for five nights in August. It was truly the trip of a lifetime. The resort was beautifully maintained and our room (a beachfront bure) was lovely -- we were just a few steps from the beach, pool and restaurant. All the staff were friendly and accommodating (they knew our names by the second morning) and the food was absolutely incredible. The weather was perfect and we spent a lot of time in the water -- snorkeling in the resort's lagoon, scubadiving, stand-up paddleboarding, etc. -- and also enjoyed an aromatherapy massage and hiking around Malolo Island. We were so fortunate to spend 5 nights in paradise and hope to return to Likuliku again someday.

Before going to the Beachcomber Hotel we couldn't find many reviews online so we had to resort to personal experiences and comments from friends and co-workers. Most didn't have much more infomation besides it was the "party island" but still beautiful, since it's Fiji! We weren't really looking for a party 24/7, but wanted to have the option to party at night if we felt up to it. The Beachcomber was PERFECT for what we were looking for. It was our own private slice of paradise, we got a beachfront Bure with an amazing view of the sunset every night. The Bula Band was so much fun, every night (fri, sat, & sun) there was great (optional!) entertainment. Any activity you would want is available on the island; massages, scuba diving, mani/pedi's, FREE snorkeling, parasailing (recommend it!), sea kayaking, and island hopping tours! Granted, it may not be 5 star living, it is perfect for a weekend getaway. I give it a solid 3 stars as far as luxury standards, but it is a very exclusive island and frankly, the best way to experience the Mamanuca islands of Fiji. I would definitely go back, and in a perfect world, bring all my closest friends and family and just take the island OVER!!! The backpacker dorms were on the same island not too far from where our private Bure was - we walked by them one night and thought they looked really clean. I could definitely imagine having a great time staying there in my early 20's. The private Bure's were clean and provided everything you might need, including a fridge! Definitely BRING BUG SPRAY! They have some there to buy, but I got eaten alive the first night, since we sat on our private porch for a while after dark. It was truly my fault, but still, the Fijian mozzies are no joke. BULA! The Beachcomber Island Resort is sure to impress. :)
