This hotel far exceeded our expectations! Last year, when in Marietta, we stayed at a competing "chain" hotel which was very comfortable and convenient; however, we felt that the price we paid per night was quite pricey for a standard, nothing-special hotel room, so this year, when making our plans, we checked with Expedia first. The Hilton Hotel and Conference Center had glowing recommendations from past guests and when we checked the price, it was $30.00 less than what we had paid last year at the "chain" hotel. The chain was located on a busy commercial parkway across from a large mall - convenient if you wanted to shop, but NOT a lovely, relaxing setting. In contrast, the Hilton is located just a few blocks from the quaint and beautiful Marietta square. It sits on a large property (we're talking many, many acres) and is adjacent to a golf course. The bedding, big flat-screen TV and other amenities were top-knotch and although we did not eat in the hotel restaurant because we were dining at a relative's home all weekend, we were told by several guests that the food and service at the hotel restaurant were excellent. This was a really nice experience and we are looking forward to our next visit there. This hotel is more like a resort than your typical, run of the mill place and the price through Expedia could not be beat! This will be our go-to place from now on when we are in Marietta!
