So I did read these reviews before booking the room but I got a good price so I decided to take a chance...but sure enough BELIEVE me if you are sensetive to funny smells you will not be able to handle staying here. When you first walk in the door you realize that the place has a funky musk smell to it in the lobby which was so bad I wasn't able to eat the breakfast because I was so disgusted. The rooms don't smell bad though and they weren't too bad overall except for the fact that someone did a remodel on the hotel and didn't update the windows so they don't stay open like they should, but if you don't mind putting a hanger in the window to keep it open then you'll be fine. The pool is heated but it closes at 8pm and there is no hot tub to relax in. The service at the pool is far from what I expect from a hotel that charges a resort fee since half of the time there would be no pool attendant to give you a towel which they have locked in a room. You have to walk over to the fitness room and beg for a towel because they say they need the towels for people that use the sauna that's in there. There is a wading pool for the toddlers that would be cute if you brought the little ones. Overall I felt like the motel next door was about the same as our hotel and would've been better because I wouldn't have had to pay for parking and for a resort fee just to put up with the poor service and smell of this hotel. The ocean was great though!!!

I went solo to Miami and stayed 1 night at the Palms to pamper myself, and that I did. The staff greeted me warmly and professionally even at 11pm. They encouraged a late night swim in the 24 hour pool and reminded me the bar closed at midnight. I woke to the New York Times and a beach chair then off to the spa for a massage. The Aveda Spa is small but serene, simple but sophisticated. I had another swim in the pool and a pricey lunch and then headed off. Overall, an excellent hotel if you want a "resort" feel which personally I can only do 1 or 2 days of, then I want to see the local atmosphere. One thing to note, families seemed happy with their stay and I saw several pregnant women with their husbands (last ditch romantic getaway pre-baby?), kind of nice to see there's a pregnancy massage at the spa for this reason. The Palms is not cheap but is worth the pennies, coming from a 27 year old NYer.

It seemed like nobody spoke english but us, the front desk people spoke english but weren't warm friendly. The hotel was clean and right next to the beach so that was convenient. The food was ok we had the breakfast buffet. The concierge was very friendly. out a/c ended up having a leak so that was a little inconvenient. But overall it was ok, if I were to go back, this would be my last resort, hotel shuttle was very convenient.

The service and room was great. Beach is also very good. Didn't like all the extra charges (eg resort fee for use of gym - I'm on vacation, not going to the gym)... and you had to pay extra for parking per day... that's just crazy. Also... it was mother's day weekend... alot of families which was nice... but there was a small group of younger, louder, obnoxious, 20 something's ruining the pool area... All in all... a great value, great room and excellent service.

I definitely recommend this resort to everyone as it will completely satisfy you in every aspect. Great Service! Great Room! Great Pool! Great Beach Club! Great People! As of August 19, 2009 all main rennovation is finished and the resort is flawless. The front desk of Eden Roc is very helpful and patient, especially Darren. I had no complaints with the Resort and I can't wait to go back and stay with them. Thanks!

The Deauville Beach Resort has a great location on the beach and close to Miami, the airport and to South Beach. The resort has plenty of history. The Beatles played and stayed at the resort following their performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. The resort has a early 1960's feel to it and the beachfront location and pool are not to be missed.

thank you hotels.com, besides the credits for a nights stay, the resort fee of $13 was waived. we also received resort credits towards any service at the hotel. the staff was pleasant, the room overlooking the ocean was terrific. the bathroom has not bee updated since the 60's, but not bad. the hotel will give you a regular key if you prefer it to an electronic one and is very accomodating. for our purposes the location was perfect. the lobby is absolutely stunning. the biggest problem is not having sun at the pool between the hours of 1:30 and 3:30 bec. of the tall buildings next door

The Trump International is a fabulous resort. We had a week long stay. My wife and I had never been to Miami so for our first and probably last time I am very glad we chose this resort. The city of Miami was less than to be desired. We vetured out the first day we were there and that was a mistake. Traffic is horrible and the people are very rude. It felt so great when we drove back into the resort. The resort staff are so welcoming and nice. By the second day we vowed not to leave the resort. You have everything there. The beach is beautiful and they have the most wonderful swimming pool and surrounding lounge area. They have a full staff on the beach and at the pool that will get you anything you need. The beach staff provides complementary towels, chairs, and umbrellas that they set up for you. You can order delicious food and bar drinks that they will bring to you at both the pool and beach. The rooms are very well decorated and well kept. They are spacious with large balconies and comfortable beds. The rooms are serviced twice daily. You have great room service and complementary news papers delivered to your room every day. When we first arrived the hotel welcome staff had automatically upgraded our room b/c we were staying a whole week. This place was awesome.

All I can say is taking a 4 day trip to a resort in Miami can be a dangerous experience especially if you choose to stay in the dodgy hotels of South Beach. If you pick wrong, you'll be miserable all weekend. Thankfully, this resort is everything that is beautiful about Miami. Great private beach, waiter service to your beach chair, multiple swimming pools including an adults-only pool, no problems finding empty chairs at the pool, quiet at night, great bathrooms/showers/jacuzzi tubs.... Sure, it's expensive but surrounding hotels are almost as expensive and they aren't nearly as nice. You get what you pay for. Spend the extra money and you'll be glad you did.

Their were some good things to say about this resort, but a lot of bad things as well. I would NOT recommend family or friends to stay here. Room renovation, pier renovation, horrible service, VIP / time sharing selling are some disadvantages of staying at this resort Got in early, was told rooms available at 12:30pm. Got our room at 1:30pm. Took 20-30 minutes to get into elevator--Resort only has three of them. Got to our floor and went to find it, couldn't because our room number wasn't on door. Room to left and right of us had room numbers but ours didn't. Went inside and room was big. Two bedrooms with LCD TV's and another TV right by front door. Turned them on, one of bedroom TV didn't work. Looked for phone, but it was hidden in the night table. Went downstairs (again waiting for elevators for 10-15 minutes). Lobby crowded with people trying to check in and out. Only two agents working the reservations check in/out, When I told them of missing room number and TV not working, the woman told me our room was being renovated?! If it was being renovated why did they give us this room in first place!!! Hungry, found that the Kitchen 305 onsite restaurant wasn't open, however, the cafe was open for buffet for $12 pp+tips+tax. We wanted to eat outside, but saw that the Pier restaurant was under construction, part of the wooden pier was missing. The Tiki Bar had some selection. Ordered two virgin 2 mango pina colada, 1 coconut water, 1 fish and chips, 2 Mahi Mahi sandwiches. WHAT WE GOT --1 regular pina colada, 2 mango daiquiri, 1 fish and chips, and 2 cajun chicken sandwiches. How can one the bar / waitress mix up the order this much is beyond me! Back up the normal 10-15 minute elevator wait time, and back in room. Examining room further, the tiles on the counters were cracked but beds were clean and comforter fluffy. Took a nap. Constantly hearing knocking and drill noises of some room being taken apart. Checkout is at noon but housekeeping knocked on door at 9:30, then 11:00 and again at 11:45. Left room at 11:55. Had to wait a good 15 minutes for elevator. Checkout took 30 minutes. Moving the luggage from room to lobby took 35 minutes. RESORT NEEDS MORE ELEVATORS! Back to elevators for a bit. One opened up, one of us got in with a large luggage, the VIP rep advised us to use a different elevator because he had a family of three in the elevator with him. Just four of them. We declined and one from our party got in with them anyway. How dare they take an elevator for themselves? Clearly their are others waiting for them as well. I think maybe all the VIP reps were using them for sales pitch and thus the normal vacationers were having difficulty in acquiring one. Our flight was in late evening, we stayed in the lobby for a good three hours after checkout. There were plenty of other people who stayed in lobby for over an hour as well. About a dozen or so eating Subway sandwiches because onsite restaurants were not available / closed. We ordered a pizza and got it delivered to lobby. We ate in peace. At this point I don't think the resort staff cared because they were so busy with was so busy.

Had initially booked with Marenas resort - 2 bedroom suite - awful hotel - rooms were not clean, the pool was just a sad excuse for a pool, dirty cushions on pool chairs, etc. Hotels.com was so efficient in switching us to the Grand Beach Hotel which was just amazing. Very family friendly. Only drawback is the menu is somewhat limited but the food is reasonably priced. Clean, nice and easy. Great location, helpful concierge service. It was our second time there and I would recommend it highly.
