So I did read these reviews before booking the room but I got a good price so I decided to take a chance...but sure enough BELIEVE me if you are sensetive to funny smells you will not be able to handle staying here. When you first walk in the door you realize that the place has a funky musk smell to it in the lobby which was so bad I wasn't able to eat the breakfast because I was so disgusted. The rooms don't smell bad though and they weren't too bad overall except for the fact that someone did a remodel on the hotel and didn't update the windows so they don't stay open like they should, but if you don't mind putting a hanger in the window to keep it open then you'll be fine. The pool is heated but it closes at 8pm and there is no hot tub to relax in. The service at the pool is far from what I expect from a hotel that charges a resort fee since half of the time there would be no pool attendant to give you a towel which they have locked in a room. You have to walk over to the fitness room and beg for a towel because they say they need the towels for people that use the sauna that's in there. There is a wading pool for the toddlers that would be cute if you brought the little ones. Overall I felt like the motel next door was about the same as our hotel and would've been better because I wouldn't have had to pay for parking and for a resort fee just to put up with the poor service and smell of this hotel. The ocean was great though!!!

I went solo to Miami and stayed 1 night at the Palms to pamper myself, and that I did. The staff greeted me warmly and professionally even at 11pm. They encouraged a late night swim in the 24 hour pool and reminded me the bar closed at midnight. I woke to the New York Times and a beach chair then off to the spa for a massage. The Aveda Spa is small but serene, simple but sophisticated. I had another swim in the pool and a pricey lunch and then headed off. Overall, an excellent hotel if you want a "resort" feel which personally I can only do 1 or 2 days of, then I want to see the local atmosphere. One thing to note, families seemed happy with their stay and I saw several pregnant women with their husbands (last ditch romantic getaway pre-baby?), kind of nice to see there's a pregnancy massage at the spa for this reason. The Palms is not cheap but is worth the pennies, coming from a 27 year old NYer.

It seemed like nobody spoke english but us, the front desk people spoke english but weren't warm friendly. The hotel was clean and right next to the beach so that was convenient. The food was ok we had the breakfast buffet. The concierge was very friendly. out a/c ended up having a leak so that was a little inconvenient. But overall it was ok, if I were to go back, this would be my last resort, hotel shuttle was very convenient.

Excellent stay! Gorgeous resort! From the moment we checked in the staff was top notch professional and efficient. Super busy season with two tournaments going on but check in was quick and flawless. Campus is easy to navigate through, no troubles finding our lodge. The room, bathroom and closet were all very spacious. Floor plan was well thought out which is nice. The resort had beautiful dining rooms, great food (a little pricy but worth it) and amazing drinks. We were a big fan of “juice of the gods” drink at the pool bar. The pool area was great! There are two main pools, a hot tub under the waterfall and a water slide! Starbucks located inside the hotel! Also the hotel is also in a nice location very central to anything you could need outside of the resort. People complained about food prices, but it’s a high caliber resort you’re not going to get fast food here. Plus if you’re resourceful like our neighbors just order a pizza from outside, they deliver. Overall we LOVED this resort and will be the place we stay every time we visit Miami.

The service and room was great. Beach is also very good. Didn't like all the extra charges (eg resort fee for use of gym - I'm on vacation, not going to the gym)... and you had to pay extra for parking per day... that's just crazy. Also... it was mother's day weekend... alot of families which was nice... but there was a small group of younger, louder, obnoxious, 20 something's ruining the pool area... All in all... a great value, great room and excellent service.

The Turnberry Isles is a magnificient resort, it was even more then we expected. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms were very clean as was the entire hotel, the pool were gorgeous especially the Laguna, and the staff were all very polite and helpful. Outstanding customer service. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the Laguna Pool closed at 7:00 pm. It the best thing there other then the golf course. I hope that they consider changing that to accomodate guests, because others were not happy about that either. The resort is also 20 - 30 minutes from major attractions like South Beach etc. So you will have to either rent a car or take taxis that will run you anywhere between $30 and $50 a pop each way. This is really the right place if you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of South Beach. The Adventura Mall is right across the street, which is very nice, and we ate lunch there everyday, because the hotel meals were expensive just like all the other hotels. This resort is wonderful, from the rooms to the staff. My husband and I will definitely come back many times and we highly recommend this hotel to others. You just can't go wrong staying at the Fairmount Turnberry Isles in Miami. Absolutely Love It! The best resort I have ever stayed in!

This resort was excellent. The service was superb and sincere. Rooms were among the quietest I have ever stayed in. My wife is a light sleeper and she slept like a stone. The views of the ocean are great and the resort grounds are impeccable. The resort is especially great for families since you have to enter a private drive that is gate guarded to get anywhere near the resort. Even Miami local remarked that this hotel is the lowest crime location in greater Miami. On-site food was great, but expect to pay a premium for convenience. The Library Bar has the most complete coolection of scotch in town along with reasonably priced appetizers & snacks. We traveled all over Miami(rental car is a must) and the tropical island feel of Key Biscyane cannot be matched if you desire a relaxing & exotic place to stay. Key Biscayne has many eating options, get the listing from the concierge at check-in, phonebook is useless. Linda B's steak house was good ($17-$30 per plate) & Haagen-Daz was a favorite stop. Local recommended archie's pizza, it was always busy.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over our anniversary weekend. It was wonderful! The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, and the hotel is extremely well kept and beautiful. The pool is not extravagent like a beach resort would be, but it was very nice and everyone was very friendly. The location is very close (walking distance) to many restaurants, shops, and bars in Coconut Grove, and not a very far ride from the airport or other areas of Miami. Of course, meals/drinks at the hotel are expensive, but that is true of many luxury hotels, especially when you are paying for the attentiveness and beauty of a Ritz Carlton. I would not hesitate to go back!

Breakfast was great it was included in our room charge. We also got the $100/night resort crdit which came in handy to use for lunch & misc. expenses (we didnt use it all, so lost it at check out). The Trump International is a fabulous resort. We had a week long stay. My wife and I had never been to Miami so for our first and probably last time I am very glad we chose this resort. The city of Miami was less than to be desired. We vetured out the first day we were there and that was a mistake. Traffic is horrible and the people are very rude. It felt so great when we drove back into the resort. The resort staff are so welcoming and nice. By the second day we vowed not to leave the resort. You have everything there. The beach is beautiful and they have the most wonderful swimming pool and surrounding lounge area. They have a full staff on the beach and at the pool that will get you anything you need. The beach staff provides complementary towels, chairs, and umbrellas that they set up for you. You can order delicious food and bar drinks that they will bring to you at both the pool and beach. The rooms are very well decorated and well kept. They are spacious with large balconies and comfortable beds. The rooms are serviced twice daily. You have great room service and complementary news papers delivered to your room every day. When we first arrived the hotel welcome staff had automatically upgraded our room b/c we were staying a whole week. This place was awesome.

All I can say is taking a 4 day trip to a resort in Miami can be a dangerous experience especially if you choose to stay in the dodgy hotels of South Beach. If you pick wrong, you'll be miserable all weekend. Thankfully, this resort is everything that is beautiful about Miami. Great private beach, waiter service to your beach chair, multiple swimming pools including an adults-only pool, no problems finding empty chairs at the pool, quiet at night, great bathrooms/showers/jacuzzi tubs.... Sure, it's expensive but surrounding hotels are almost as expensive and they aren't nearly as nice. You get what you pay for. Spend the extra money and you'll be glad you did.

Their were some good things to say about this resort, but a lot of bad things as well. I would NOT recommend family or friends to stay here. Room renovation, pier renovation, horrible service, VIP / time sharing selling are some disadvantages of staying at this resort Got in early, was told rooms available at 12:30pm. Got our room at 1:30pm. Took 20-30 minutes to get into elevator--Resort only has three of them. Got to our floor and went to find it, couldn't because our room number wasn't on door. Room to left and right of us had room numbers but ours didn't. Went inside and room was big. Two bedrooms with LCD TV's and another TV right by front door. Turned them on, one of bedroom TV didn't work. Looked for phone, but it was hidden in the night table. Went downstairs (again waiting for elevators for 10-15 minutes). Lobby crowded with people trying to check in and out. Only two agents working the reservations check in/out, When I told them of missing room number and TV not working, the woman told me our room was being renovated?! If it was being renovated why did they give us this room in first place!!! Hungry, found that the Kitchen 305 onsite restaurant wasn't open, however, the cafe was open for buffet for $12 pp+tips+tax. We wanted to eat outside, but saw that the Pier restaurant was under construction, part of the wooden pier was missing. The Tiki Bar had some selection. Ordered two virgin 2 mango pina colada, 1 coconut water, 1 fish and chips, 2 Mahi Mahi sandwiches. WHAT WE GOT --1 regular pina colada, 2 mango daiquiri, 1 fish and chips, and 2 cajun chicken sandwiches. How can one the bar / waitress mix up the order this much is beyond me! Back up the normal 10-15 minute elevator wait time, and back in room. Examining room further, the tiles on the counters were cracked but beds were clean and comforter fluffy. Took a nap. Constantly hearing knocking and drill noises of some room being taken apart. Checkout is at noon but housekeeping knocked on door at 9:30, then 11:00 and again at 11:45. Left room at 11:55. Had to wait a good 15 minutes for elevator. Checkout took 30 minutes. Moving the luggage from room to lobby took 35 minutes. RESORT NEEDS MORE ELEVATORS! Back to elevators for a bit. One opened up, one of us got in with a large luggage, the VIP rep advised us to use a different elevator because he had a family of three in the elevator with him. Just four of them. We declined and one from our party got in with them anyway. How dare they take an elevator for themselves? Clearly their are others waiting for them as well. I think maybe all the VIP reps were using them for sales pitch and thus the normal vacationers were having difficulty in acquiring one. Our flight was in late evening, we stayed in the lobby for a good three hours after checkout. There were plenty of other people who stayed in lobby for over an hour as well. About a dozen or so eating Subway sandwiches because onsite restaurants were not available / closed. We ordered a pizza and got it delivered to lobby. We ate in peace. At this point I don't think the resort staff cared because they were so busy with was so busy.

My first trip to South Beach started with the most unique check-in experience I have ever had; in-room check-in. What a brilliant idea!! I was met at the entrance to the hotel by a very welcoming and professional staff member. He advised me of the process of checking in in the room, and off we went luggage in tow. We arrived at the "room," which in fact was a beautiful suite, where the check in took less than five minutes. The suite was very well appointed and VERY clean! While the appearance of the hotel kept the theme of 50's art-deco, which is common in SoBe, the appointements inside the room were beautiful and state-of-the-art! After spending most of the day taking in the local beaches and SoBe attractions, I retired to enjoy the features of the resort. They have a beautiful pool area in a "garden" setting which also envelopes the al-fresco dining area. The full-service bar and restaurant provide excellent food and drink. The service was exceptional in every sense! The owner was visible and attentive to the guests...bringing out the true "boutique" nature of the resort. For anyone looking for a charming, very clean and well appointed "boutique" resort within walking distance of the beaches and all that SoBe has to offer, I highly recommend The Angler's Resort! I will definitely re-visit The Angler's Resort and SoBe very soon!!

This is a nice resort with a good golf course. It's close to the airport (about 12-15 min drive), but getting in and out of the resort will require a car: there are no taxis in front of the hotel, as can be expected for most hotels. All the rooms overlook the golf course. However, it is not close to the beach at all. If you expect to be able to go to the beach, you shouldn't pick that resort, as you will need to cross the whole town of Miami before you get to the beach. Ours had a kitchenette with a big fridge and a stove and microwave. But we spent most of our time out, so we didn't do any cooking. We used the hotel's restaurant one night, and the food was really so-so. But their desserts were super. Beware: review your restaurant bill! They had added 18% tip already to the bill, and then I added tip again. At least, when I called and told them I had no intention of giving 35% tip, they agreed to remove the 2nd one. The hotel is close to the Miami International Mall (about 10 min drive). So, that makes shopping easy.

Had initially booked with Marenas resort - 2 bedroom suite - awful hotel - rooms were not clean, the pool was just a sad excuse for a pool, dirty cushions on pool chairs, etc. Hotels.com was so efficient in switching us to the Grand Beach Hotel which was just amazing. Very family friendly. Only drawback is the menu is somewhat limited but the food is reasonably priced. Clean, nice and easy. Great location, helpful concierge service. It was our second time there and I would recommend it highly.
