Way more than i expected. the staff was friendly and welcoming. the food was delicious (not just your average buffet crap like in most inclusive resorts). you can get your souveniers, excursions, activities, liquor, food and everything else all in the resort - no need to leave the island! i can't wait to go back again. Atlantis is RIGHT next door - you can hop in and out and explore whenever you want for their casions and such. the entire experience was just like being in paradise - loved it! HOWEVER, i will say this - i'm dissapointed in the fact that they DONOT HAVE AC in the front desk and lounges. they leave the doors wide open most of the time and all the musky humid bahamian air comes gushing in. that was the only drawback of this resort really. almost every other resorts have cool air blasting!!! but the hotel rooms and restaurants definitley have AC so don't get me wrong... its just the reception area and the lounges. but this con almost didn't matter compared to all the pros! this resort is awesome!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Sheraton Cable Beach resort and had a great time. The service was excellent. The concierge was knowledgeable and helpful. There is even a trip desk where they will arrange outings for you. One thing that Expedia doesn't mention is that this hotel is connected by an underground passage to the Wyndham Hotel and Casino. You can charge anything at this resort to your room at the Sheraton. The only downside to the resort was the food at the restaurants was insultingly expensive. I expect a markup on food at a resort, but $18 for cereal and juice in the morning? My wife and I ended up taking a bus to the local grocery store and bought some snacks and supplies. When we did eat at the hotel, we often ended up splitting an entre and appetizer. Drinks however seemed reasonable and were similar in price to what I would expect pay at a nice place in DC. It is worth noting that there is no sales tax in the Bahamas, and all tips were automatically included in our bill. I found this to be very convenient. Additionally, all places in Nassau take American money and there is a one-to-one currency exchange rate. Unfortunately, there is not a lot to walk to outside of the hotel in Nassau. The bus system is great and only cost $1.25. They come about every 7 minutes, but unfortunately only run until 6:30. Taxi's are generally a bit more expensive ($18 for 2 to the airport or downtown). Overall, we had a great experience!

Hotel and service was as expected. Very decent for the affordable price. They also gave 75 free gambling bucks at the casino (spin the Sheraton wheel at the airport, it's free) and 100 bucks gratuity for restaurant and not included services at the resort. The beach at resort was nice and almost empty, the music was too loud. They have a better pool at the Sheraton nearby that is accessible and nicer. The asian restaurant at the resort is excellent and lower in price, the Steak house is OK. The buffet at the resort is good only if you have kids or if you want to grow a belly on your own!

My husband and I got a great deal at Breezes for a long weekend getaway for our 1 year anniversary. It was an easy weekend getaway from Boston where we didn't have to worry about food, drinks or entertainment. It is an older resort, and the accomodations and entertainment aren't nearly as good as you would get on something like a cruise, but still fun. I would go again for the price. It would be fun to go with a group of easygoing friends. Here are the pluses and minuses of the resort to help people make decisions. The good: The staff was friendly and great, you could always find something okay at the buffet(loved the french toast), the resort overall was clean, easy transportation to and from the resort provided by the resort. Needs improvement: The bed sheets aren't even close to being soft, you can't eat near the pool without being attacked by the birds, it's nearly impossible to get reservations at one of the restaurants unless you eat really late, some activities like waterskiing, the rockwall, the trapeze etc are scheduled at certain times, you can't just go when you want to.

We stayed at the Beach Towers and we had a great time. The hotel is older and at one end of the resort. It is close to the beach. Their are pools everywhere. The resort is beautiful and very clean. It is one of the neatest places I have ever been too. You have plenty to do. On the down side you have to walk alot! So, if you don't like to walk far - this isn't the place for you. Also, yes the food is expensive but water is cheaper right outside the resort in a little shopping village. If you don't do the meal plan - then you can eat at Starbucks for breakfast. Dinner is expensive in the resort but Bimini Road was good and not so bad. Johnny Rockets was not good - overpriced and wasn't that good.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Atlantis. I particularly liked staying in the coral tower villas because it felt like it was the least busy of the resort. We had easy access to our own pool and small lazy river that was less crowded. The beach access was also better than the other side of the resort. We traveled over to the other side every day, but always started and ended back on our side. We really weren’t in the room that much at all. Also, we have two girls ages 6 & 3 and we had read reviews about the resort not being stroller friendly so we left our stroller at home. By the end of the second day, we rented a stroller from the resort. If you like to do and see everything like we do, you will do a TON of walking and their little legs couldn’t take it. Neither could our backs from carrying them everywhere. There are ramps and elevators everywhere but usually hidden so just ask if you can’t find them. We also packed snacks like the reviews said and that was a life savor not only from just expense view, but more due to the fact our girls were snacking constantly and they are somewhat picky. So it was a blessing to have what they liked on hand versus walk miles to find the right snacks. We were also a little concerned about the girls not being tall enough for most of the water slides, but we found more than plenty to do for their age and height. Very fun trip!!

Atlantis has wonderful facilities - think luxury beach resort, casino, outstanding restaurants PLUS a water park and aquariaum (equivalent to Shedd in Chicago or New England Aquarium). Beautiful landscaping, pools and beach. Very kid friendly and the clientele shows it. Lots and lots of kids. Then think wall to wall people. Especially on days the cruise ships are in and people pay $29 to visit the resort. Row after row of beach chairs at every pool completely filled. Impossible to get 3 chairs together after 10 am. Lines for all the water rides. The pleasure of the resort was reduced considerably by the crowds and the additional fees for nearly everything. (good news is that the water slides are included). There is not even use of a fridge in the room to keep snacks and drinks the family might prefer. Instead a minibar with bottles of water for $3 and sodas costing even more. $30 for an umbrella at the beach. $15 to use the fitness center. $10 a day for internet access. For the price (or even up the daily rate another $50) more should have been included. We felt nickled and dimed to death for all the "extras" that most resorts include as part of the pacakge.

I read alot of very negative reviews of this hotel before i booked, and i'm very glad that none of them led me to change my mind. For the price of this hotel, you really couldnt ask for anything better. Its in a perfect location... 5 minute walk to either downtown or the fish fry, a clean white sand beach right out front and gorgeous views from the windows. The room was old but clean, we always had fresh towels and sheets and the front desk staff was more than happy to assist us with anything we might need. We had a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend this hotel to friends. Our stay certainly exceeded our expectations and i cannot honestly figure out what all the negativity was about. It's no Atlantis, but for a real taste of the Bahamas its a wonderful choice. You're front and center to the incoming cruise ships and in a perfect location for many local food specialties, it gives you the real experience, not some theme park like vacation in the exclusivity of an all-inclusive resort. So if you're traveling on a budget and are looking for a good time in the Bahamas the Nassau Palm Hotel is certainly a perfect choice!
