As mentioned earlier, things started out a bit rocky with broken A/C in the room and a delay in getting our luggage to the room. We were given a room in the cottage furthest from the water, but I imagine that was due in part to a large group who appeared to be there for a wedding, or maybe the fact that I was able to get a very good rate for our visit. This was our third trip to Nevis, having stayed previously at Four Seasons and in a villa. The breakfasts every day were a delight, with fresh fruits and juices, and generous portions. The one lunch we had there was very good as well. The dinner we had was good, but not quite up to par for the price. I would highly recommend Nisbet, and was extremely pleased with the service overall. Jamie, the manager, was one of the highlights of the property. He is genuinely interested and engaged, and in many years of travel to the Caribbean, he is far and away the most professional hotel/resort manager we have ever come across. I would hazard a guess to say that Jamie's management skills have a lot to do with Nisbet's current successes, and the fact that the resort was full during off-season speaks for itself. We found the resort to be beautiful, and the beach lovely - one of the nicest on Nevis. We would select Nisbet for a repeat stay over the Four Seasons, which we found overly-stodgy and not as authentic a Caribbean experience.

We enjoyed our 2 days on Nevis. The rest of our trip was at the Marriott on St, Kitts, so this was a nice change. We flew into St. Kitts, and let Oulie Beach Resort arrange a water taxi for us. This turned out to be a great idea, and did get us quickly to our resort. Our cottage was set right on the beach as promised. However, there was not steel drum band since it was not high season. Be aware that Charlestown does close up on Sundays, grocery stores were open, but not much else. Oualie Beach Resort was lovely, with screened in porches and hammocks hung in the trees for each cottage. We enjoyed the food at the resort restaurant. It was a peaceful, relaxing couple of days.
