My wife, daughter and I stayed at Captain Oliver's over Christmas. It's a nice place, and a good value. The staff was always very pleasant and accommodating. We requested another room from our original room to get something more updated, and the staff kindly obliged. The breakfast package for the three of us was very reasonable, and it was a nice buffet style with eggs to order. The restaurant was priced similarly to other venues of comparable quality. The pool was very clean and well kept, though some of the furniture was a little dated. The rooms have MAGNIFICENT views for the price, and the restaurant is on the water. For those planning to go to St. Barths, the ferry is less than 50 yards away from the restaurant so you can time your breakfast accordingly. The rooms were somewhat dated, but priced appropriately. St. Martin is not a budget destination. We own a timeshare across the bay at Oyster Pond, so we would go there during the day to spend time with other families and walk to the beach which is next door. Overall we liked the resort. My daughter and I prefer a little more resort amenities, though my wife prefers the simple and non-commercial style at Captain Olivers. One note that is not the fault of the resort: mosquitos. Make sure you bring protection of some sort b/c they are a nuisance at the resort in the rooms and in the reception area where you'll find free wi-fi for hotel guests. Good luck and enjoy!

The hotel was amazing but it was defintely far from everything. They also say they have ammenities at the hotel but they are located about 10-20 minutes away (not within walking distance). Also very disappointed with the cleanliness of the shower. There was mold on the floor and ceiling and it was very dirty for a westin. The shower also was not cleaned well after the made service. That was our only complaint. The pool was amazing. I'd also have to say that it was a little bit ridiculous that we paid a resort fee yet had to pay extra money ($75) to rent a cabana by the pool. For the amount of money we paid for the hotel, and it was not the "in" season, I would have thought they would be included in the resort fee or possibly cheaper since NO ONE was utilizing them.
