Let me starts off by saying when we we shopping for resort, we were not looking for resort in the typical "tourist / party" neighborhood, but for a true relaxation getaway. If this is what you are looking for then keep reading this review. This resort is about 15 minutes north of the Cancun hotel zone where you will have to pass through two security gate to access the resort. We have the beach front casita 2 story suite with rooftop pool and all inclusive package. Let me just say that the whole stay was amazing and the quality of the food and selection of alcohol are all beyond satisfaction. We were greeted with cool hand towel and champagne soon as we arrived at the lobby. Check-in was painless and the staff were all professional with great smile. Me and my wife have traveled and experienced quite a bit of resort from several country and i have to say that we were both impressed and pleased with the experience with La Amada. We have already planned our next stay at La Amada while we were there.

My husband and I stayed at this resort for 6 nights. When we first arrived at 10am we were told our room wasn't ready until 3pm so we walked around the resort and had lunch. Keep in mind this resort is still in the building process - so there maybe more activities and entertainment once they are completely open. We went with the all-inclusive - which was ok. There was only 2 restaurants open and room service. The menus are pretty small and no mexician food at all on the property. We asked if when all the restuarants are open if they will have a mexican restaurant and were told no. On our departing day - we said something to management and they told us we could have asked for anything we wanted and if the chef's had it, they would make it. Would have been nice to know right away. The shuttle service is great - it gets you off site so you have something to do. Highly suggest going to Isla Murjeres - just a short ferry ride away from the resort. They are extremely pushy on getting you to sit through their timeshare presentation. We kept asking the conceriage about going to Isla Murjeles and they apprantely have a deal where if you do the presentation - they give you this for free. Well, we didn't want to waste our time and finally they told us where the travel agent was that could book this for us. Overall, the resort/rooms are beautiful - gorgegous!! The employees work very hard to make sure you are happy. Just needs a little more night life.
