Just back hours ago from Warwick La Lagon Vanuatu,if you have kids or just want a fantastic hotel this is it.Great kids club, fantastic location and wonderful presentation of pools and surroundings. For couples also everything is on offer. If however, you are impatient or expect even somewhat quality of service and become frustrated with SLOW service - don't come here. With 5 guests at the bar and 6 staff on it will take you 20 minutes to get served a beer, even when they take your order it will take another 5 minutes to pour and serve - SERVICE IS EXTREMELY POOR - but don't let that turn you off, if you can get past this. It is a nice resort. Just take your duty free booze and there is a supermarket just outside the gate and get mixers and drink in your room. Also if you are thinking of an Asian priced holiday, this is NOT the case, it is a lovely yet very third world country but everything costs Sydney / Melbourne pricing and there is not any street styled eateries and nothing is open after 8.00 pm, you come out of a restaurant at 8.30 pm and it is dark nothing is open, you could be in the middle of a country paddock. Some nice restaurants to look out for but expect to pay about $80.00 plus per couple for a nice but not overly fancy dinner. If you are staying at Warwick and want same priced but better by far food take the free ferry / punt across the water from the resort ( only a couple of hundred metres ) to Erekor Island and eat there - best steaks, fantastic seafood chowders and desserts that WILL take you back there, same price as resort but heaps better and the service over at the island compared to the resort is chalk and cheese, you will be surprised. Stay at the resort and eat and swim and snorkel at the island. Don't get me wrong - the resort was great but the service drove everyone around the twist, the lunch at the pool bar was a farce, drinks were SO SO SO SLOW, we ordered drinks one day, waited, waited went to the room and made some Vodka tonics from duty free, walked back past the pool, picked up some ice from the bar myself and went back to our table, finished the drinks all still before the drinks were served to our table!!! And this is just the norm. I do stress it is a great resort just get past the no service policy and you will love it. But also be prepared to pay for it, and remember there is VERY little to do except lounge by the pool and wait for drinks or food, but we had a very nice albeit expensive time. Based on our recent travels a week in Vanuatu for general living and eating will cost about the same as 2 - 3 weeks in Bali or about 2 weeks in Malaysia. But if you want the Pacific, this is what you pay for. We enjoyed our visit but based on what you see and what you can do and the cost, we doubt we would return, but it was nice - so who knows. Maybe if the service was better!!!!!!!!

Hotel was pretty good and the service impeccible, however we were very disappointed that the renovations were not complete, even though we booked on the understanding they were to be completed months before. It was disappointing not to have the main pool, swim up bar, spa and resort shop as the resort is some way from town/supermarkets etc. Once renovations are complete the resort will be a good place to stay, however if I had my time over I would stay somewhere in town as food and drinks are much cheaper away from the resort (even the resorts casino is cheaper for drinks etc).

Iririki Island resort is the jewel in accomodation in Vanuatu, a two minute boat trip to the heart of Port Villa where taxi and bus service awaits. Iririki have a choice of 3 restaurants to choose from 2 on the island and one in the casino in Port Villa or you can choose from a number of other restaurants through out Port Villa. If you visit Iririki resort spend the first day checking out what the resort has to offer from assistance in arranging tours or free snorkelling trips twice a day. Forget the world and go on a jet ski tour it's amazing. But must do's are the native tour through the villages, meet the coconut man and taste the fresh fruit, visit the local markets and taste real organic fruit and veg, your senses will go crazy with some of the exotic fruits. The people are the friendliest and honest I have ever met, We are going back, this was my third time to Vanuatu and first time at Iririki, we will go back again and will be staying at IRIRIKI.

Friendly managers and staff. Nice and quiet location. Just far enough out of town - 20 minute walk. The hotel and grounds are well maintained. Tour guide in the hotel everday at 8am for an hour. She gave great recommendations. Hotel restaurant food and service is very good. You can exchange your key for a pass and take a 5 min walk down to the resort below for free use of activities. TV reception was poor even though cable - apart from the sports channel. Who wants to watch TV when there's a lovely view from your deck. Much better to sit on the deck with a glass of vino and read. The room has glasses plates etc but take your own corkscrew! We did.

My partner and I stayed at Sunset Bungalows in Port Vila Vanuatu for 8 days and would highly recommend this resort to anyone travelling to this region. This friendly boutique-style resort is situated about 10-15 minutes by public bus from downtown Port Vila. The buses are easy to catch from just outside the resort entrance, (just flag down the vans with number plate beginning with "B" and ask if they are going to your destination - fare 150 vatu downtown). Downtown Port Vila is more like a rather small scruffy town so, while we enjoyed its nearby proximity to explore restaurants, it was rather nice to stay just 10-15 minutes outside town. Sunset Bungalows has great accomodation with nicely presented, spacious, clean overwater bungalows, comfy king size beds with mozzie nets, pleasant bathrooms with hot & cold water and table & chairs on balcony overlooking the lagoon. We slept with our bi-fold doors open at night and woke up each morning to the beautiful view from bed looking out over the lagoon. The resort offers a nice restaurant area with a good selection of food and drinks and very adequate breakfast provided. Gardens and pool area are neat and tidy and a nice area to take a swim or relax and read a book in a hammock or lounge. The free Kayaks are also a nice way to spend a few hours paddling around the lagoon. We would like to say a special thank you to Annie from Sunset Bungalows who gave us great local tips on how to get around, places to go, restaurants, money exchange and also arranged our tours. She's a fantastic asset to the resort and we appreciated her kindness very much. I hope the management appreciate the important role she plays - thanks heaps Annie. Highlights of the trip were Cascade Waterfalls, Congoola Sailing cruise day trip with beautiful beaches and snorkelling and also the half day beach buggy tour. Unfortunately many of the restaurants in Port Vila charge fairly high prices for fairly mediocre food & service so don't be surprised. However, if you want really excellent food the best restaurant we experienced in Port Vila was Chill ... the food was absolutely fantastic (crab is to die for). It's Aussie owned and staff are clearly very well trained and managed. Special thank you to the manager for saving us the last crab dish for our final night :-) Our other worthy of mention for great dining is Le Tentation. Port Vila doesn't have much in the way of night life and seems to largely close down by 9-10pm so don't expect a party scene. It's a nice place to go for a romantic holiday, explore the islands, and relax. Definitely worth doing a few tours to see around. Overall we had a very pleasant break in Vanuatu and definitely enjoyed the Sunset Bungalows.

We read some older reviews of Erakor Island that weren’t that great. We even booked half our stay at another resort just in case. But as of the upgrades (new management), this place is incredible! We loved it. The whole staff were unbelievable. Thanks Nurse for fixing up my boyfriend! And Nick deserves a raise!! I’ll be devastated if we find out he isn’t promoted soon. He worked SO hard over the Easter holiday, was so attentive to people’s kids, hung out with my boyfriend when I wanted to relax and has an infectious optimistic personality. This place was great for us as a couple wanting something fun and more ‘adventure vacation’ i.e. kayaking, canoeing, snorkeling, etc. (though we would have like some beach lounges outside our fare so we could be away from the kids on the beach). But it seemed like a great place for families too. The sunset beach setup is just awesome. So romantic. The restaurant is very good. We loved that your view from bed was of the lagoon. You could snorkel right outside your door and it was absolutely silent and serene while by/in your fare. Can’t say enough good things about Erakor. I think all it needs are some new fixtures in the bathrooms, new mattresses, a few throw pillows, a radio/iPod docking station and it would be perfect. If we ever make it back to Vanuatu, we will be staying at Erakor Island.
