My new husband and I had the time of our lives at Club Ambiance on our recent honeymoon. It's much smaller and more cozy than the bigger resorts -- only about 90 rooms. Terrific if you want to cozy up to the one you love, maybe not so great if you're interested in a party with lots of singles. It's an older hotel...and a lot more organic than most of the big glitzy all-inclusives. The signs are all hand-painted, and it looks kind of sketchy from outside. Don't be fooled. The rooms were obviously built several decades ago, but they were immaculately clean. The maid even scrubbed the floors and folded the things she found that we'd misplaced under the bed daily. The service was TO DIE FOR. Every moment someone was asking us if we needed anything, the food was good, the resident band was fun, and the atmosphere laid back and comfortable. Make sure you're there for Thursday night Jamaica night! CA doesn't have the best beach, but there is a great public one just down the street. The benefit of the beach at CA is that it's secluded, so you can relax without oglers and merchants harrassing you. We absolutely loved it. It was everything we wanted. If you want a pristine glitzy marble halls kind of place, CA is not for you, though.

Friendly staff - front desk, bell service, security and restaurant staff. And also, the housekeeping. Clean and attractive, comfortable accommodations. Highly recommended for a "keep-to-a-budget" vacation - b/4 going to a 4+ star resort to end the trip.

Its a great resort for the money. Food, service, drinks, grounds all wonderful. The only 2 things i didnt like about it they really cant change. 1. the rooms do not have balconies. most of the resorts modeled like superfun have balconies, the rooms open up with big windows but its not the same. 2. the beach is ok however the water is only knee deep at most places within the roped off area. if you go past the ropes to find water a bit more "swimable" the lifeguards yell at you. there is a local beach next door which i would describe as majestic, i recomend you check it out. again both of these knocks are beyond their control. i cant say enough about the staff, they were wonderful. The resort is fun, waterslide, piano bar, disco etc. It was a great experience especially for the what we paid.

Stayed 8 days/7 nights. Resort was better than we expected. Reception personnel very helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean and very welcoming. Enough towels, toiletries, pillows. Everything smelt very fresh and clean. We were able to eat as soon as we checked in. Reggae Cafe has jerk chicken, jerk pork, curried goat and hamburgers with french fries. Food and drinks are served throughout the day and the buffet has several dishes to choose from. The Italian and Japanese Restaurant need reservations and you need to take at least one dress pants (for the men) to have dinner there - so don't carry only short pants and casual wear...the way we did!! It did not dampen our stay however as the other choices were gratifying. The only problem we did have was the message light on our phone did not work and we missed a couple calls...which we reported to the front desk upon our departure. Lots of daily activity...nightly entertainment...we really enjoyed our vacation and will definitely go back.

My husband and I sat together and relaxed and had our Pina Coladas...We kept saying, "We never get to relax together!" But at FDR you can! We have three girls, ages 5, 11 and 13...and after a day, you feel totally comfortable and at ease with your very warm, personal vacation nanny! The older 2 girls were at ease doing their own thing around the small and intimate resort. While our wonderful nanny Donisha attended to every wish that our 5 year old had! They did arts and crafts, tie dye, jewelry making, coloring, swimming, etc. etc. What a great place to go! Enjoy!

This was our 2nd time down there. Food is great, drinks plentiful, staff friendly, and the beaches are beautiful. Please remember this is a 3-star hotel not 4 or 5, don't go expecting luxury accomodations. We didn't want to be put up in a hotel-like resort, RDCC has cute cottages that are all private-that way we didn't have to get in an elevator, we walked out our door and boom there was the water! It is a very intimate setting, you get to know the staff as they you-ask the bartender for their specials, they'll definately hook you and also remember you next time. Make sure to plan a couple of excursions, you can talk to some of the staff members and they can take you to Dunn's River or Bob Marley, if you aren't in to all the tourist and buses.

This resort was amazing. We had a lot of fun. No complaints. Beach was nice...the pools were nicer. The bartenders are all great, sometimes there are lines, but why complain. Restaurants were all amazing. Surprisingly the buffet was extremely good as well. Was nice they mixed it up too some nights to "Mexican" night and what not. Gold member was worth every penny. We had an amazing room/view. Also they book the dinners for you ahead of time so no worries with that aspect. Free internmet was nice to check my email a few times as well. For the people that complain about this resort, shame on you. A vacation is as good as you make it. No this is not like 5 star hotels in North America. Staff is a little slow sometimes...who cares, Its Jamaica. Live it up. If you don't want to walk 5 mins from one place to the other go to a smaller resort. This place is huge, which is great if you want to have a fun time and meet people. The night life shows are weak, but what do you expect. The disco can be good and the sports bar has any game you want to see. The burger joint is open from 11pm to 7am if you get hungry. It's great...say hi to Lloyd for me. Go to this resort, you won't be sorry. The rest from the water look like crap except sandals.
