In as few words as possible (because I can't bear long winded reviews), this hotel is definitely a good place to stay if you don't have young (<3 yrs) children. In my opinion, the resort is best suited for young couples and/or mingling singles. While there were other couples with young children staying at the resort, they too found it difficult to find peace from the loud music piping from everywhere. The pools (more than one) are excellent and within an ear shot of the surf from the Atlantic. I do recommend this resort. Check it out.

We went to San Juan to celebrate my husband birthday. The resort is beautiful. The pictures on the web site of the resort are accuarate. Thanks again Carol for excellent room. The food at the hotel is average price for a resort. I enjoyed the fact that there were several options from casual to fine dining. I am not much of a gambler but I did try the casino (didn't Win) . The beach and pool area was very well maintained. The Rainforest trip arranged by the hotel was very relaxing , numerous pictures. The number 21 bus stops in front of the hotel and for $ 0.75 you can go to Old Juan. We took the free Trolley from bus stop in Old San Juan to tour the area.We shopped and had lunch at a restaurant called "Raices" the decor was unique and the food was delicious. We also took the number 21 bus to Old San Juan the next day and paid $1.50 for ferry to Bacaradi Factory. The tour from hotel was pricey.. We also went to the mall the Largest mall in the Caribbean it has all of the stores we have in the malls in California. Down the street from hotel on the left side is 3 reason price restaurants we ate breakfast or dinner at all of them my favorite was Ropa Vieja Grill the food is excellent , There is a Chili's and Subway in the same block, I was surprise to see Frozen Daiquiri and Pina Colada on Subway menu . We have travel all over the world and this was my best trip to the Caribbean no language barrier and no money to exchange. We will return and stay at tne Conrad.

We arrived late evening and initially were put in a room near the ballrooms, bars, elevators, and what seemed to be a service staff hangout; not the ocean view room that had been reserved. Went back to desk, told no ocean view rooms available, given a villa with bay view and complimentary breakfast. Very nice room, quiet, great view. The villa section also had its own pool which was less crowded than the resort pool. The resort was very busy, high season there, but there were several dining options and some nice little shops on the grounds. We went walking around the area during the day, but wouldn't recommend leaving the resort by foot after dark. Good location close to airport, overall would recommend and stay there again.

I spent 4 days here and loved every minute of it. The rooms look brand new, with very comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. The resort is very lively...we had a live band in the lobby every night, and the dance floor was packed. The pool was perfect for all ages with a great water slide, and swim-up bar. The beach right outside the resort was very nice, with plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas for everyone. We walked the beach in both directions, and I can't say the surrounding area is anything to brag about...it's a mix of construction, abandoned buildings with graffiti, with a few nice resorts mixed in. So if you're going out to the beach at the resort, I'd say stay put where you are. We didn't have a chance to explore other areas of Puerto Rico, so I can't say much about that. We ate at Ajili Mojili (or something like that) which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel and really enjoyed it...it's a bit pricey, but a nice date-spot. The hotel is only about a 15 minute cab ride from the airport and the cab only costs about $16, so it's not worth arranging a shuttle service. There's plenty of cabs. I would definitely recommend this resort, and would go back again!

The hotel is always great, including the staff. However, they always try to add a resort fee on the bill. The bill is prepaid through Hotel.com and there is no indication that there are extra charges other than parking, telephone or other personal expenses. This hotel is not a resort hotel. I do not see why I would have to pay an extra fee that was not indicatged by Hotel. Com.

This hotel was very beautiful, well maintained and very clean. The rooms were equally well maintained and a good size. The beach and the pool area's were one of my favourite features of this resort. Beautiful beach, large pools and awesome outdoor hot tub(big enough to fit 10 plus people). The location was amazing as were the staff of this hotel. My only 2 negatives are that in the eating area's the wait staff was pretty slow in taking my order and bringing me the bill etc.. My other negative would be the COST to eat and drink on the resort property. It is outrageously expensive to eat anything or drink anything here whether it's by the pool or the indoor resaturants; not worth the prices. I highly recommend eating and drinking elsewhere and not at this resort. Other than that, the hotel was awesome. Very long, clean and huge beach. Loved every part of the property.

The biggest negative is that the restaurants are pricey (especially for breakfast & a light lunch) and the food selection is limited. There was no "night life" beyond the lobby bar so we went to Old San Juan a couple of nights for dinner & a earby resort to hang out for dancing & dinner. It's smaller than some of the "resorts" we've visited which means it wasn't too crowded, especially during the week. I'd stay there again because of the quality of service but would also consider the larger resort a block up for more entertainment options (night club, sports bar, contemporary restaurants) and a younger atmosphere.

I reserved an oceanview room at the La Concha Renaissance Resort for Sept. 18, 2010 for a one night's stay prior to a cruise. Upon arrival to the resort we were greeted and were offered assistance with our luggage. Once we entered the resort the decor was just as it appeared from Expedia's website: very chic and modern/contempary with a very open lobby. Since we arrived around 3PM our room was not available for check-in but we were offered to have our bags checked and held by the hotel and were told they would call us once the room was ready. The Condado area is very walkable and has many shops and restaurants nearby for dining. The ocean behind the hotels is beautiful and makes for some very nice photos. The oceanview room was very spacious with a balcony and a very large window to view the ocean and the 2 pools below which opened to the beach. The furniture was very swanky and modern and the decor was lovely. The electronics were a very nice amenity especially the Ipod docking station. The bathroom was on the small side but I loved the open shower. The restaurants on the grounds offered a nice option for dining should you choose not to venture into the city though we didn't try any of them. I absolutely loved the amount of pools available and the hot tubs. The concierge service was great as well! The next time I visit San Juan again I will definitely stay here again and longer than just one night so that I will have more time to enjoy the resort and its many amenities.
