If spacious clean rooms, proximity to the beach, good service is what you're looking for. The GC Beach Suites is a great choice. However, if you are looking for a top luxury resort experience in Grand Cayman, the Ritz-Carlton and Westin are better choices. Positives: - The rooms are spacious, well furnished, and clean. - The hotel staff is very helpful, service is great - Location is great if proximity to the beach is what you value (I thought it was great to be so close to the water). - Hemingway's Restaurant is great!!! Highly recommended (even if you are not staying in this hotel). - Great location at Seven Mile Beach. Negatives: - The pools are small. Very small. - The hotel is not as luxurious as some of the other top choices on Seven Mile Beach, like the Ritz-Carlton, or the Westin (e.g. my wife still raves about the spa at the Ritz-Carlton)

We came away from the Westin Casuarina Resort & Spa on Grand Cayman feeling that while it is rated 4 stars, it seemed like an upscale-mediocre hotel in that the decor and amenities seem a bit dated and the consierges need to be A LOT friendlier; all other staff was pleasant and professional. The workout room was an afterthought when they built it - dated and stuffy (poor air circulation) - although, obviously a very important room for travelers because all the cardio equipment was full when we tried to use it twice. The bed, however, was very, very comfortable. Overall the hotel stay was a good value for the special/promotional rate we paid - the hotel is ideally situated on 7 mile beach, there is a great pool and meal/drink service outside, the rooms were not special but comfortable, and the food throughout all the hotel restaurants was good and well priced (compared to other 4-5 star hotels in the island).

Treasure Island is a FIND. Way less expensive than the surrounding resorts. The staff is extremely friendly and the beach is a few steps away. Swim-up bar? Yes, please. There's a private lagoon that's great for skinny dipping too. Oops, pretend you didn't read that. To be fair the refrigerator smelled a little funky and the beach was nicer further down the strip, but for the price this place was great. I thought it was impossible to go to the Caymans on a budget. I would definitely go back to Treasure Island.

Nice flights, the airport is small and close to all the hotels, the Marriott Beach Resort is right in the middle of the famous 7 Mile Beach area, and right on the beach. Average resort building--nothing too special, nice courtyard inside the building that is wonderful at night to sit and talk in, the extra-special item is the location on the water. Perfect spot. Superb swimming and snorkling spot--right at the resort--you really don't have to go anywhere to enjoy Grand Cayman's best asset (sand and water--and lots of tropical fish). Go to the grocery store to buy snacks, breakfast and lunch--then go out to eat at the many close excellent restaurants. Rent a Jeep for just one day and drive the entire island, it's fun driving on the otherside of the road. Bring lots of money and don't waste your time and energy trying to find deals---because everything is expensive.

The drive up was not impressive at all. The front desk area was clutered looking and again not impressive, you will feel a let down. Once we enetered the 2 bedroom resort it was very very nice with a nice size kitchen and very good appliances. There were 3 tvs, but only 2 remotes the tv are to soon be repaced with flat screens. There are two well stocked bathrooms. When I return I will return to this resort!

The hotel was wonderful - clean, comfortable, staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food in all 3 restaurants was excellent, Blue and Periwinkle the best of the three, but Blue is very expensive. The beach is nice but too crowded - 3 rows of beach chairs extending the length of the beach, and the first row fills up starting at 6:30 am. There were also a lot of kids at the hotel, even very young children, surprising for such an expensive resort. The hotel pools were extremely nice, and again the poolside staff were wonderful, providing samples of cold juice, a cold towel, and drinks or food from the bar. The resort-side pool was the one we enjoyed the most, very quiet, uncrowded. The resort is split into two halves, connected by a walking bridge over a main road. The advantages of the resort side are proximity to the front desk, quiet pool, exercise room and spa, and Periwinkle and Blue restaurants. The beach side of the resort is closer to the third restaurant, the larger pool and the beach. It is not a long walk from one side to the other, but it can be annoying if you simply forgot your sunglasses or a book. Breakfast is served only in the beach side restaurant, called "7", and is expensive. A simple breakfast of coffee, fruit or croissant can be purchased at the "Cupboard" store by the beach-side pool. The exercise room is beautiful and well equipped. I did not use the spa.
