When it was new this place was definitely five-star. Rooms are spacious and well laid out. The overall resort is well designed, the beach is beautiful, the staff friendly But the cleaning crews need training, the black rims around the bathtub and smudges on the mirrors are a turn-off. Note that "ocean facing" does not mean "sea view", as there are trees, blocking the view of all but the 5th story The business idea of thie place seems to be to make it hard to leave the resort and get as much as possible incremental cash out of the guests. Food is more expensive than in Singapore: while breakfast is included, the lunch and dinner buffets are very expensive, and not quite 5 -star (selection is ok, but at those prices a US restaurant would have to offer a lot more). There are many activities (tours, jetski, snorkel, karaoke) etc, but everything costs extra. The construction of a private ferry jetty has ruined the local coral reefs, so snorkeling from the private beach is no longer attractive, need to pay for a snorkeling tour. Do not expect to get any impression of Indonesia from this place. The whole resort area including all other the resorts is like a Singapore colony. To see Indonesia you need to bite the bullet, pay the expensive taxi fee to get out of the resort, and out of the resort area. Overall: for a pure resort-only vacation, and if roughly doubling the daily room cost through meals and activities is no concern, then this could be good.

excellent facilities, room and resort grounds. Staff were always helpful and ready to do anything to please. Included breakfast was excellent. On bintan you are really limited to eating at the resort or at the adjoining banyan tree resort restaurants, which are not the cheapest, but quality is good.

Resort is a little old, but service was great, pool area excellent and beach clean. Worth a trip to local 'village' to stock up on beers and mixers as very expensive at the resort. Would definately visit again.

Siloso Resort is great for a relaxing holiday, with a large pool surrounded by gardens, kids slides and waterfall. The beach is just accross the road as well. The staff were vere friendly and cheerful, always able to help with any questions or requirements we had. Rooms were a little small, but we weren't there to sit around inside all day, so were fine. The rooms did have a slight musty smell and a little humid, but they were clean and comfortable with good aircon and had windows which could be opened. The breakfast was great and dinner was also very good at the hotel - though only ate there once. The resort was well positioned and easy to get to Vivo City shopping mall and into Singapore city. Only a five minute walk to monorail and resort gave us free passes to use. We had a great stay and would recommend Siloso to anyone, great value for money resort.

Beautiful resort, great lobby albeit with a nonexistent beach. Great pool and friendly staff he reception could use more smiling female staff. Be careful of taking the path along the shoreline the walkway is crumbling and interestingly came by a Komodo dragon!
