I had read favourable reviews of this resort while researching possible getaways and can confirm that it fully met my expectations. This trip was but a four-day excursion to escape the gray bleak landscape of a Canadian November prior to the onset of winter. Sun, sand, blue sky and torquoise water were all that were required, yet fine accommodation completed the perfect little holiday. This resort is not one of those concrete, cookie-cutter monstrosities one sees perched on beaches around the world. The resort does not have beach-frontage yet is surrounded by water. Stepping through the sliding back door we were treated to the calming view of an inner harbour with a large patio deck and pool in the foreground. This, we had virtually to ourselves and enjoyed breakfast coffee and room delivered muffins/danishes. A lasting impression of the resort is the lush, green vegetation that engulfs each of the buildings. The walkways were a treat to walk through. Although the pool water was deemed too cool by most guests, I enjoyed a swim each morning. There are three pools from which to choose. The poolside lounge chairs are of the highest quality and comfort. Alternatives to the pool scene are the Radisson beach across the road and Taino Beach accessed by a short boat shuttle. The resort's close proximity to the Port Lucaya marketplace provided numerous restaurant choices and nightly entertainment. Finally, the staff at the resort was exceedingly friendly & helpful.

The hotel is a bit worn. Most of the shops, restaurants and other posted amenities were not available during our stay. Other than our porter, the resort staff appeared complacent and at times like they were being bothered. The spa service was average. Caution: Watch the clock, they will shorten massage time and charge you for the full time. Due to a late flight out, we requested a later checkout which was denied. I have no idea why when the resort was near empty. We expected an adult only side to the resort. This wasn't the case. We expected drinks to be served pool side. Again this wasn't the case. We expected the onsite restaurants to be open. Once again, not the case. Positive Comments - Go across the street to the market area for meals. Visit Agave and ask for Remus or Kevin (the friendliest bartenders). Great lunch menu. Across from Agave is an Irish pub and restaurant. Ask for Perry (waiter). He is very friendly and has quite a sense of humor. The food was excellent. Unfortunately, it would take more than these three great guys for me to return to this resort. This is in no way a 4 Star Resort.
