It can be confusing trying to chose a place to stay at Snowshoe since often the reviews for the different accommodation choices are grouped together. We stayed at the Inn at Snowshoe which is run by the resort but is located at the base of the mountain rather than at the top with their other properties. It was a much more affordable option than staying slope side and we were pleased with our choice. Its only drawback is that it isn't reached by shuttlebus, so you have to be willing to make the 6 mile curvy mt. drive yourself from the Inn to the slopes. It wasn't fancy, but it had what we needed to compliment a ski vacation. A clean room, good shower, hot tubs, heated indoor pool, restaurant on site, early breakfast buffet, cable tv, held our bags after checkout while we skied another day and it had proximity to the resort. We'd definitely stay there again.
