The accomodations were fantastic - two rooms and a large bathroom with an ocean view. (comfortable bed and wide TV program selection). However, the room was a long uphill climb from the resort activities. You could ask for a shuttle from the resort to the room whenever needed, but this was a bit inconvenient. The beach and pools are great and the watersports abundant and well run. The excursions offered by the hotel were expensive but very interesting and well run. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The downside to this resort was the average to below average quality of the food. Except for breakfast, the food was not prepared well. It had a mass produced quality (meat was cut thin and chewy, fish portions were small, buffet trays were not always refilled promptly, and service was slow in all of their restaurants). Twice we had to ask for our entrees to be served and they appeared almost immediately implying they were available but not being served. We noticed many quests leaving food on their plates - not a good sign. It is a long drive from the airport to the resort (1 1/2 hours), but this is true of all the resorts in the Castries area and not unique to Almond Morgan Bay.

It is a nice location if you want to SCUBA, or lay on the beach. Room was clean but had a couple of things broken (blinds were broken, you could still manually open and close them but the cord was broken. The closet door latch was also broken). We had a kitchenette which was adequatly equiped but did not have a microwave, had a stove though. There are quite a few stairs to do to get to the room. The free ferry service our hotel provided was not working 2 of the 6 days we were there. The other resort still had theirs working so we were not stranded however we had to pay to go across when I thought our hotel should have paid for us since theirs was down.

My now husband and I decided to stay at The Ladera for the 2nd half of our St. Lucia honeymoon. We were absolutely amazed by the beautiful view of the Pitons in our hilltop dream suite. The pool was big and we loved having complete privacy. The only downside of the resort is the location, in that it is far from many restaurants. If you do not want to eat at the resorts restaurant, Dasheene (which was delicious), your options are very limited. Taxi rides are quite expensive so expect to pay around $50 roundtrip to get to a restaurant 15 minutes away. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are just as pictured on the website. The complimentary breakfast is a nice touch as they offers a nice variety Don't miss the Sunday brunch at Dashene, it's worth every single penny!

We enjoyed our hotel stay at the Royal Rex very much. We were glad that we had selected this Rex property. It was more expensive, but definitely worth the money. After going to quite a few all inclusive resorts, we were also happy with our choice. It was not as nice as some of the other resorts, but there were quite a few restaurants in walking distance and we enjoyed the flexibility of choosing where we wanted to eat. It was also much cheaper this way. We rented a car while on the island. Driving was definitely a challenge, but worth it to see the interior of the island. We would defintely recommend the Rex by Royal if you want a hotel that is not all inclusive.

My Colleagues, family and myself were very pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of the resort. I read some very poor reports on the quality of the resort just before arriving on our holiday. The staff were very supportive and made every effort to make our stay enjoyable. There was never any shortage of food at the restaurants I used as reported in some reviews, in fact I had to actively restrain myself lest I put on too much weight during my stay. The resort was very child-friendly as my son was very happy at the kiddies Club. Overall, I would have no hesitation in recommending this resort to friends and I look forward to returning to the resort in the future. I must pass on the thanks from my colleagues and family for the great treatment by the staff of Smugglers Cove. PS: We all fell in love with St. Lucia - it was our first visit to this country.

Anse Chastanet Resort is a great place to spend your vacation if you want to relax and have a great time in St. Lucia. The resort is beautiful and the staff and crew are very friendly and if you are diver which I am you will have a blast with the Diving facility there. I had 10 dives during my stay there and I can say that they were the best dives I had for last few years and I am PADI Scuba dive instructor and I have dove all over the world. The main problem that we encountered was the place that hotel was located there is rock road that connect the Hotel to soufriere city which is a very narrow road and very hard to drive, so you will have very hard time to leave the resort. The food is very very expensive in the hotel a simple dinner for two can cost you easily $180 ( American dollars) , I recommend to rent a car for duration of your stay there as it will cost you much cheaper to go and eat out and also give you the opportunity to check out the Island. There are many location close by that you can get there with car in 15 minutes. Try to go to different resorts for breakfast or use their beach so you can experience different resorts. Don't forget the Mud bath and the Zip line in Dennery. It worth the drive for sure. All together we had a great time there. St Lucia is the must to see place.

The hotel was amazing. Customer service was amazing! We went for our honeymoon and it was everything we could ever dream of! We were catered to the Max! The ocean was gorgeous, and the food was great! Trysting restaurant is a must! With the renovations, the hotel will be killer by 2011. Ask for Mr.Paul (private driver) to take you for a tour of the island. The Grenadines tour is absolutely amazing if you can swing the money (370 a person). The staff at the resort are very nice! If you're looking for a party scene while romancing at rendezvous, head up to the sister resort (le sport) for the day (adults only resort, not couples only). They have a smaller beach with a more party scene, but the food is not that great. We went up there for the day and made reservations for Tao (fine asian-fusion dining)- we weren't very impressed- Trysting was much better at rendezvous! For the $50 roundtrip ride, le sport wasn't worth it to us. But were definitely returning to rendezvous!

The Bodyholiday surpassed our expectations in every way. This was our honeymoon and it was perfect for us. The resort has a hideaway feel and seems more like a high end resort. Most of the guests are from Great Britain, Scotland, and France, I would say maybe 25% Americans. We really enjoyed this mix. The free spa treatments are extremely nice (my first ever massage). The food was excellent. It is a healthier menu than most resorts. Healthy does not mean untasty here. The free beach activities were great, we waterskied, sailed and snorkled. We did not do the free Scuba, but everyone that did loved it. Nice reef with lots of sights for snorkling and scuba. The circus class was a blast. We also booked a excursion thru the hotel to hike/climb the Pitons. It is a very hard climb, not for the weak, but well worth the time and money, the view is awesome. We met the owners of this resort, you can tell they take a hands on approach. They own a least 2 resorts. We saw them eating a the upper end restaurant and using the beach almost daily. The staff was personable and very helpful. We shopped long and hard for the right honeymoon and when their prices dropped a thousand per person we booked. My wife and I made the right decision and had a wonderful honeymoon.

Quiet little villa overlooking a beautiful bay. Great experience because it is so exotic. The rooms are nice, but do not expect the resort-type service and comfort. My wife & I and our friend have visited all inclusive resorts at different islands for the last 7 years. This club was the best. Top shelf food, drinks and staff. The resort is only 1 mile from the airport, so no time is wasted on the bus. The only minor negative, is that although the ocean water was warm, it is blue in color, not turquoise, as the resort is on the Atlantic Ocean side, not the Caribbean side of the island. A fantastic resort.

We recently visited Jalousie and LOVED it! St. Lucia is an incredibly beautiful island and the resort is in a fantastic location nestled between the Pitons. The view is breathtaking! We were very happy with our choice to stay here and would definitely return - it was every bit the romantic vacation we were looking for. We loved having our own cottage and the plunge pool was phenomenal... The only two recommendations I would make would be to offer rafts for floating in the pool/sea and to vary the menu in the restaurants a bit more or offer a few more selections; the food was good but did get a bit redundant after a week. We also found St. Lucians to be some of the most sincerely friendliest islanders we have encountered out of all of the 12 islands we have visited; the staff at the resort went out of their way to provide good service - we were very impressed with everyone we encountered.

We recently returned from a one week Caribbean vacation in St. Lucia on 3/19/09. We stayed at the "Discovery at Marigot Bay" resort and was very satisfied. We would rate the resort 4+ stars. The resort property and its location was beautiful. There are no beaches nearby because you are on a bay where a variety of yachts sail in/out. However, one can take a taxi to nearby beaches. The island offers several excursions that will highlight your visit - we did one each day. We would visit St. Lucia again and choose the "Discovery at Marigot Bay" resort.
