The TradeWinds Island Grand is exactly that......a Grand Resort. Just be prepared for a LOT of people, busyness, children everywhere. Of course, it was an exceptionally busy week, because much of Florida was on Spring Break also (March 30-April 4) but, it was overflowing with younger children. So, if your children are from 6-12...then GO there ! They will be in HEAVEN ! If your children are 16 and older; think twice about staying there during a peak season week ! Staff was always pleasant, Front Desk staff VERY accomodating and even gave us a free upgrade for our first night ! Oh and another thing, the rooms are VERY small for 4 adults. Beds are OK (and I sleep on a Sleep Number bed at home-so, OK is not a bad score !) The paddleboats are fun and make friends with "Paddleboat Joe" !! The bartenders/management in the Pirate Cove Bar are VERY good at their jobs ! GREAT ADULT-only pool area !!! So, if you are looking for "Disneyworld on the Water"-GO to the TradeWinds Island Grand !!! If you need a little less stimulation and children; choose a different location !!

THE ROOMS WERE NOT SOUND PROOF. WE HEARD EVERYTHING FROM A DRINKING COUPLE IN THE ROOM NEXT TO US. THE PLACE IS NOT A RESORT EVEN THOUGH IT HAS POTENTIAL. THEY DO NOT CATER TO GUESTS. MANAGEMENT DOES CATER TO THE NON GUESTS WHO COME IN AND PARTY LOUDLY WITH NO CONSIDERATION TO THE GUESTS. EVERY NIGHT I COULD NOT SLEEP UNTIL SECURITY CHASED THE NON=GUESTS AFTER THE MUSIC ENDED. GET A ROOM UP FRONT AND YOU MIGHT BE OK. GOOD LUCK.

I wasn't expecting much as I had picked this resort amongst so many others along the beach, but it was the one that had the lowest price and not so bad reviews so I went with it. I arrived in the middle of the night and I still wasn't sure about it, cause it was dark and it is really along that strip of beach that has so many surrounding hotels and nothing else really. But check in was very easy, the customer service was excellent, and the room was very clean. Actually I was amazed because of the large size of the room, which turned out to be in fact a suite, and the cleanliness and just overall comfort of the place. I was very pleasantly surprised then the next morning to be only 2-min from the beach, there were tennis courts, and swimming pools, and hot tubs, and a couple of places to eat around... so overall, I would really recommend this resort if you are looking for some peace and quiet, or if you are with your family... actually this would be a GREAT family trip location and I would highly recommend it. Just FYI - a car is a must have if you want to go anywhere else besides the resort. I hope this helps!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Bay Palms for 8 nights. It was a great stay. Our one bedroom suite had everything we needed, down to the dish scrubber. It is walking distance to restaurants, shop, beaches, and a nice grocery store where we stocked up on food and utilized the kitchen our room had. The service of the hotel was excellent. We forgot our beach towels, and they let us borrow some. Very accommodating. It was a very peaceful place to stay, and lay out by the pool. We didn't bring a laptop, but it's a short walk to their sister hotel where we could use the computers. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat. And I would definitely recommend staying here!

The parking is not adequate, rooms are very dated but serviceable, rates were better than surrounding hotels. If i had to sum up the place, its a good value if you want a no frills place to enjoy the beach but a resort it is NOT. The pool deck is small, the bar and music stopped stopped at 9pm and it was a ghost town after that. Our room had a leaky ac that dripped water all over our luggage. A big plus is no resort fees although technically it isnt a resort.
