Summit County Ski Resorts

The Centennial State is famous for its ski vacation packages, but nothing says CO quite like the Summit County resorts. Tucked away in the majestic Colorado Rockies, this area is home to three unbeatable spots for ski vacations: Keystone, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain. The combined possibilities amount to more than 8,000 acres of skiable terrain throughout the region’s longest season.

Keystone is the largest of the options with three mountains, five bowls and 135 runs. This is Summit County skiing at its most pleasurable; not only do the resort’s ski vacation packages give you access to perfect weather and powdery terrain, but they also let you explore additional delights like sleigh rides, summer hikes, and a five-acre skating lake. What’s more, Keystone's night skiing program is Colorado’s largest, so you can hit the slopes well after the sun goes down.

Of course, many travelers choose to ski Summit County at the ever-popular Breckenridge . Though it offers slightly less skiable terrain than Keystone, the resort boasts 370 inches of annual snow across its five peaks. It’s also home to North America’s highest lift and several of the region’s steepest runs, so adventure seekers should make a beeline for the ski rentals and lift tickets. Plus, budget-conscious vacationers have a soft spot for Breck; it routinely provides some of the top deals and discount prices.

If you’re searching the county’s best ski school, however, don’t overlook the tickets and rentals at Copper Mountain. Its Woodward at Copper training camp is among the top places to earn your ski stripes, and the adjacent half-pipe is ideal for Summit County snowboarding. You can even take a pass at thrilling heli skiing and adventurous ski tours. At the Summit County, Colorado ski resorts, you always get the best of every world.

We loved Pine Ridge, although it looked like it was a ways from town on the map, it wasn't. It was a 5 minute walk. We had a great location in Builiding 9, with two good sized decks and a creek right behind us. Very scenic. We also really liked our greeting at the front desk. Very nice and informative about the area. All in all a wonderful stay at the Pine Ridge Condos. Our friends were staying at the Hilton Club resort and they liked our location and room better.

The hotel is beautiful, well-maintained, and convenient to the slopes via a free shuttle system. Good beds, good plumbing. However, w/the exception of the bellhops and the spa staff, the service is execrable. Two separate requests for wake up calls were unmet, and the management's helpful solution was to recommend that we call from the room next time. At last check, the bed was indeed in the room... Additionally, I opted for same-day laundry service for $5 extra. My late-day inquiry re status was answered with "today being Sunday, no same-day service is available - check back tomorrow". This was nowhere on the laundry form. Monday I mentioned the $5 same-day charge to the front desk personnel, and was told in no uncertain terms that I would still have to pay that fee. Concept-wise, that goes against logic, so when I refused, I was huffily dismissed w/a "I'll take it off the bill, thank you, goodbye" slam phone. Also, on Christmas, while the fact that no room service was available was understandable, a note left in the rooms so that people can make alternate plans would have been nice. Also, Edgewater Cafe has a talent for double-charging - from a phantom juice to a phantom meal. We are planning on going to Santa Fe over Memorial Day in 2008 and were considering staying at the Santa Fe Rock Resorts property, but now - not so much.

We wanted a quick get away... Resort was very nice. We stayed in a studio. Kitchen was updated and had full-appliances...very nice! Room was very clean. Staff extremely helpful. Location was AWESOME...short walk to Peak 9. We will definitely stay here again!!! Short walk into Breckenridge (like 1 min). Great restaurants...Mi Casa (great Mexican food/lots of locals); Hearthstone (elk was awesome!); be sure and get a massage at Blue Sage Spa. Stop at Walmart right before you drive into Breckenridge to get groceries...Antler (two or three shops up from Walmart) sells wine, beer, etc.

Good location but the hotel is a bit beat and there is not daily housekeeping. Keep in mind you are in a ski resort so there is not many options but don't expect a 3 or 4 star hotel.

Enjoyed a 2 day stay at the Resort. The staff could not be more accomadatting. The room was clean and a reasonable size for 2 queen beds. Beds were comfy. Hotel location, convenience to slopes & town are great. Amenities are also great. Hotel is a bit of a maze to navigate, but once you understand the layout, you're fine. Would definately stay again.

The Lodge was right in the middle of the resort town - great location! We could walk to the lifts and get right on the hills! The 2 bedroom was spacious and well decorated. The only downside was the comfort of the beds - extremely hard!

Resort was in great area, close to the lifts. Cleaness was fair, but the beds were very uncomfortable and the walls and floor are very thin. Overall the resort was worth the money.
