Summit County Ski Resorts

The Centennial State is famous for its ski vacation packages, but nothing says CO quite like the Summit County resorts. Tucked away in the majestic Colorado Rockies, this area is home to three unbeatable spots for ski vacations: Keystone, Breckenridge, and Copper Mountain. The combined possibilities amount to more than 8,000 acres of skiable terrain throughout the region’s longest season.

Keystone is the largest of the options with three mountains, five bowls and 135 runs. This is Summit County skiing at its most pleasurable; not only do the resort’s ski vacation packages give you access to perfect weather and powdery terrain, but they also let you explore additional delights like sleigh rides, summer hikes, and a five-acre skating lake. What’s more, Keystone's night skiing program is Colorado’s largest, so you can hit the slopes well after the sun goes down.

Of course, many travelers choose to ski Summit County at the ever-popular Breckenridge . Though it offers slightly less skiable terrain than Keystone, the resort boasts 370 inches of annual snow across its five peaks. It’s also home to North America’s highest lift and several of the region’s steepest runs, so adventure seekers should make a beeline for the ski rentals and lift tickets. Plus, budget-conscious vacationers have a soft spot for Breck; it routinely provides some of the top deals and discount prices.

If you’re searching the county’s best ski school, however, don’t overlook the tickets and rentals at Copper Mountain. Its Woodward at Copper training camp is among the top places to earn your ski stripes, and the adjacent half-pipe is ideal for Summit County snowboarding. You can even take a pass at thrilling heli skiing and adventurous ski tours. At the Summit County, Colorado ski resorts, you always get the best of every world.

We loved Pine Ridge, although it looked like it was a ways from town on the map, it wasn't. It was a 5 minute walk. We had a great location in Builiding 9, with two good sized decks and a creek right behind us. Very scenic. We also really liked our greeting at the front desk. Very nice and informative about the area. All in all a wonderful stay at the Pine Ridge Condos. Our friends were staying at the Hilton Club resort and they liked our location and room better.

Really enjoyed our stay here at the resort. The room was nice and clean the beds were very comfortable with nice bedding & linens. The only draw back was the walk down the long corridors to get to our room after a long day of skiing. The proximity of the elevators to our room was quite a distance. There were enough food options and activities surrounding the hotel. Great valet service to retrieve our car when needed, to go exploring other ski areas in Summit County. I would highly recommend this resort for any length of stay.

We were pleasantly surprised that the resort had a full kitchen (refridge, stove, oven, microwave). Bathroom was a nice size. However, when we went to check out, the hotel told us there was a daily resort fee that wasn't part of the hotel.com fees displayed on line. It was definitely a disappointment to a very nice trip to have to pay for 3 days of resorts fees unexpectantly. Watch out!!

Good location but the hotel is a bit beat and there is not daily housekeeping. Keep in mind you are in a ski resort so there is not many options but don't expect a 3 or 4 star hotel.

Our stay was great. The hotel room was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The ski in/out resort has a very nice access to the mountain. The food at the resort is great but very expensive. Next time we are going to use our kitchenette more and eat out less. The ski instructors for ski lessons are also very friendly and helpful. Our child really enjoyed the lessons. Everything was right there so we didn't have to drive for any of our skiing needs. I would definitely recommend this resort.

This is a great resort for families. Although we were 3 adults, we really enjoyed the amenities, in particular the hot tubs. The rooms were exactly what we expected: well equipped, clean, comfortable. The resort was very convenient. We loved being able to walk from our condo to the gondola. And the shops, restaurants and services available in River Run Village were great. The Inkspot is a wonderful breakfast/espresso/bar/bookstore. The ski rental was easy, and I particularly LOVED the skis I rented. We met lots of nice people on the lifts and gondolas, and it seemed like families were enjoying sledding as well as skiing. This mountain is a great mountain with plenty of different runs for skiers of all levels. Overall, this is a great ski resort.

We love this place, great location and clean, comfortable, well-appointed condos. We have stayed here several times before and will definitely come back again. This time, our condo was at the front of the building overlooking Main Street and late evening noise from the bars and street was a bit annoying. Try to get a room away from Main Street. We were here from Sunday to Wednesday and knew that we would not have daily housekeeping, but would have appreciated if the resort would have picked up our trash at least once. All in all, a wonderful place and an excellent value.

We had no idea what the rooms would be like at this Lakeside (Decatur bldg) resort. WOW -- it had a HUGE family room with 2 couches, 2 chairs and a fireplace, with a whole supply of wood. One couch was a pull out bed and the other was big enough for a kid or teen to sleep on. Nice kitchen with all the plates and silverware, soap, and micro and toaster. Even placemats! Had a nice dining table to seat up to 6. Master bedroom was separate with its own sink area. Shared toilet/shower area. Extra bathroom sink area on other side of toilet/shower. Pantry had lots of room to store food and fridge was very cold with a good freezer too. Also came with a dishwasher - nice for those staying longer. Condo and hallways were VERY quiet and room seemed sound proof. Only thing that was weird was thermostats (there were 2) didn't really seem to matter -- seemed overly warm. So we turned them off and cracked windows when needed. Room never got too cold. Shuttle stop for lifts was right outside the door of the bldg and came every 15 minutes until midnight!! Hotel also provided us free vouchers for ice skating and a sleigh ride. We LOVED this resort, although the price was very expensive for us! But this was our splurge and you definitely get what you pay for in terms of room, space and amenitites. You also have use of the indoor pool, sauna and hottub, which was fun for our kids.
