Decent experience. Staff very helpful. If you are traveling from the airport to the hotel by a taxi, insist your taxi driver to go via the Paradise Road. Or else they would take the freeway which would cost you far more. The casino downstairs is not that great. If you are on a business visit at the Las Vegas Convention Center then this is a great place to stay. It is close to McDonald, subway plus food court. The restaurant in the hotel is expensive. A coffee cost you 3.50$. Somethings to be warned: 1) You have to pay for Wi-fi 2) Resort Fee is to be paid extra.

The best part of Ballys is it is right in the middle of the strip. The building is dated but the staff works hard to keep it clean and looking decent. They advertise no Resort fees. Which is true however because of that they charge you for everything. $15 bucks a day for the fitness center, $14 a day for internet service, $10 for fifteen minutes on the internet in the business center. They more than make it back. The best part of Ballys, The Tequila Bar, $2 tacos, Cuervo silver, and Margaritas. Hard to top that. I wont stay at the hotel again but I will go back to the Tequila Bar.

We stayed here a year ago and came back for a wonderful honeymoon! The place is clean and friendly and the best part...NO RESORT/CONDO people harassing you at this place! The price is great, Emeril's was fantastic, and the casino is very large! If you like the tables, it's not cheap. If you have kids, do Excalbur (we did in July) across the street, do NOT do Tropicana, it's a dive! The MGM is very dressy and not as kid friendly

Pros: The location was perfect; They don't charge a "Resort Fee"; They don't charge you for your car; Air conditioner; Pool area. Cons: The hotel is very run down, dirty rooms (our shower curtain had mold on it, our sheets had holes and stains), carpet was very worn & stained. Hallway smelled of pot & cigarette smoke, dirty worn down carpet, empty beer bottles and trash laying around.

My wife and I recently spent a week in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Resort. This is the first time I've booked a complete vacation with Expedia and I have to say that we got a great deal and we would highly recommend Expedia & Planet Hollywood. I was a little worried about the choice because of the recent, on going change from the Alladin to Planet Hollywood. I was pleasantly surprised from the time I pulled up to valet park until we left a week later. It took less than 3 minutes to check in from the time we walked through the front door. The front desk clerk pulled up our reservation, noted that it was booked with Expedia, and handed us our keys to a newly remodeled, strip view room on the 35th floor! The bathroom is huge as prior reviews noted. I agree with those who said the bathroom could be a little smaller so they could add size to the room itself. Bed was comfy. Staff was prompt & courteous the few times we needed them. Yes, the window in the room is small by Vegas standards but who cares! We did hear the sounds prior guests noted when someone turns on the water in other rooms but it wasn't that bad unless you're a very light sleeper. Finding the hotel elevators while walking through the casino can be tricky. It took us a couple of days to figure it out as the casino area is laid out kind of funky. The Spice Market Buffet & Planet Dailys were good but a little pricey. You couldn't ask for a better location on the strip than Planet Hollywood.

Overall, liked it, although the construction which was going on around the food court was annoying, with all the load noise. Also, the "resort fee" of $16.80 a day was kind of kinky. Why don't they just include it in the cost of the room? They quote you a room cost, then spring the "resort fee" on you afterward. It's like selling a car, the charging extra for the wheels. I asked what the "resort fee" included, and was told "unlimited calls from the room, use of the on site gym, and a daily newspaper delivered to the room. Well, the paper was never delivered to the room during my 3 night stay. I never did find the gym, and everytime I wanted to make a call, it wouldn't go through until I called the front desk so they could activate my phone to do so. Very annoying. Other than the "resort fee", It was a nice experience. Also, no fault of the hotel, but when I was there on May 17th, it was the coldest day on record, with a high of 67 degrees. It never did get above 75 for the 4 days I was there! Oh well.

This resort fee is ridiculous. Work the resort fee into the nightly prices instead of charging guests this "hidden" fee when they enter. This makes the stay much less enjoyable when the guest feels scammed upon check-in!
