It's nice to find a hotel that feels like home and that's what the James Hotel delivers. You can actually hang out in the lobby or adjacent "library" and get work done (computers provided including MAC), read great design and art books, or just relax. The gym has the best equipment I have ever experienced short of a top-end spa resort. The room has nice contemporary design, comfy linens and bed, plasma screen, great bath and work cubby. You can hook up your MP3 to the room's stereo system. Hotel Bar is fun and well stocked with exceptional brands and food from next door (try the Kobe beef served on Himalayan salt block). Restaurant has great steaks (recommend salt-aged rib eye and lollipop cheesecake). Location steps away from Michigan Avenue shopping.
