This is the second time I've stayed at this resort and enjoyed it as much as the first. It has the most attractive grounds and common spaces I've yet to find in a resort in Tucson while maintaining a low-key feel. I've also found the food and drink, while expensive in line with typical resort prices, to be uniformly excellent.

Service was excellent. The restaurants were a bit pricey for what they were so we ate locally for all of our meals. The spa was a bit small with not many services available but the coffee wrap was great ! The best bargain was the 9 hole golf course that wound around the resort. The mountain views were spectacular with hummingbirds and road runners everywhere.

The location of the hotel is great and the main building and pool area are beautiful, but the rooms are tired and in need of a update. The first room that we were given (a "preferred guest room") had a musty smell, a broken screen door to the balcony and there was a table but no chairs outside. We switched rooms and the new room was clean and had all the furniture, but we still expected more from a four star resort. The furniture was a bit worn and overall the room felt tired. The bed linens were clean and comfortable, but the towels were not plush and there were no robes in the room. The grounds and pool area are good for the most part, though the landscaping away from the main building could use some more attention in places and they should have people at the pool area cleaning up throughout the afternoon, rather than at the end of the day once trash has started to pile up. The Sunday brunch, while not cheap, is delicious and beautifully presented. Overall, the hotel is beautiful and in a great location; it's just in need of an update and some more attention paid to the little things that make a big difference in the customers' experiences.

I always thought of Westward Look as a luxurious property. Then I stayed there. The units from the outside look dated at best. The rooms were certainly very clean and comfortable. However the bathrooms could stand to be updated. The outside and landscaping really didnt give a resort feel. Probably would stay again if I wanted a "hotel" experience just not for a "resort" one.

The Lodge at Ventana Canyon was amazing… I was kind of skeptical at first but when we pulled up to the Resort it was amazing -- The view from our balcony over looking the hill was beautiful and our room was awesome. I think they upgraded us to the 2 level room w/1 king bed and 2 queen bed, it was like a house! Everything about this Resort made my trip 10x better, instead of gushing about the sight seeing we did, we gushed over how the Resort was to our friends and family… If I ever visit Tucson again, I will defiantly stay at the Lodge at Ventana Canyon, also your dog can stay in the room too, nothing can top that!

Very nice grounds and helpful, friendly service, but there was a door between our room and the next and you could hear everything the other room was doing. They didn't go to bed until 11:30. So they really need to rectify that situation or just commit to seperating units period in some areas and leaving them open in others. Also we had originally been sent to a double instead of a king. The rooms are exactly the same...after out nighthawk neighboor we wished we had stayed in the double where no one seemed to be next door. The king bed turned out to be one of those foam beds. It was very stiff. Great linens though the top cover could be laudered better. Otherwise it's gorgeous resort and the sale price we got it at was still worth it for the views, HOT shower and nice southwest decor.
