First of all the hotel is just gorgeous!! The rooms were large but the bed was too soft for us so we got housekeeping and they provided us a board to put underneath the mattress which helped. The main problem was the high cost of the food at the resort. It was way overpriced for the quality of the food. The only restaurant that was worth the price and the view was the KPC restaurant which is located right on the beach. My suggestion is that you should rent a car to get food off of the resort. We went to the deli at Safeway and got some meat, cheese, mayo, and bread ad made our own sandwiches since the room had a refrigerator. We also got sodas, water, and alcohol where you can buy at Safeway, Walmart, Target, etc in Hawaii. We only spent money on dinners at the resort. Breakfast was 25 dollars a person so we drove to the Queens marketplace and went to Starbucks. If you don't have a car you are pretty much trapped at the resort and parking is 15 dollars a day if you self park which is a long walk, 21 dollars a day for valet service, and is free is you have a handicapped placard so don't forget to pack it if you hae one. We ran into some wonderful hrlpful people at the hotel such as Mike who brought our bags to the room. however, there were also some rude and not very helpful people we ran into working at the resort as well. The pools and the ocean fed lagoon were fantastic. The views and beauty of the resort were amazing. you do have to walk a lot but we got used to it. Even though there were trams and boats to take us from place to place, we rarely used them because they never seemed to be around when we needed them. I als highly recommend getting a room in the Lagoon tower as that s where all the action is as it s close t the dolphins, Lagoon pool, the ocean fed lagoon, and is a simple short walk to the main lobby. We had a 5th floor Lagoon tower room that looked out over the parking lot. The clerk told us the view would not be good and encoursged us to upgrade but we declined since we didn't think we would spend much time in our room. I am glad we didn't because every night before dinner we would have cocktails in our room and look out over the roof of the main building and parking lot which also had a view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. We could even hear the ocean so the view was not as bad as we had been told. Overall we loved our vacation here and we would come back. I just think if you enjoy the best psrts of the resort and stick to eating outside you will do just fine!

When I chose a resort online I always read what the travelers thought about their stay. For the most part the Marriott had very good reviews. My next step is to see if what the resort offers fits my expectations. I like parking (rental car a must) and internet access to be included in the hotel fee. Great swimming pools and close to the beach. Of course the food was excellent and they made the best Hawaiian Margaritas. Yummy! The staff at the resort were very accomodating. Also the Sansei Japanese Restaurant at Queens Market (next to the resort, also recommended by other travelers) is a must for great sushi. Thank you Marriott for helping make my vacation memorable.
