This was my first experience with an all-inclusive resort and now I'm hooked for life. My husband and I went for our 10-yr anniversary. This resort was great. It is VERY big and you will do a lot of walking. They have shuttles that can take you around the resort once you've decided you've walked enough! It is a family resort, so there are children around. The resort is so big though that no matter where you are, you never feel crowded or overwhelmed. No matter what time or where we ate, the restaurants and buffets were never full to capacity. So it's a very relaxing atmosphere. The grounds are maintained beautifully and the Caribbean Sea is breathtaking. The night time shows at the resort were great. The food was good. I was a little disappointed with the food at the reservation restaurants. The Oriental restaurant was my favorite. We had no trouble at all making reservations, we just did that the first night we got there for the whole week. Best Day was great! They made it so easy and never pushed us into anything we didn't want. You will be approached and/or yelled out to at the airport for other companies trying to get your business. Just look for Best Day (White shirts with red lettering). There is an ATM at the resort so you can withdrawal pesos. Xcaret (pronounced 'esh caret' for those like me scratching your head on that one) was nice- but then again- be prepared for A LOT of walking.
